    • The invention relates to a lock device comprising a key and a lock cylinder, said lock cylinder comprising a fixed cylinder housing and a cylinder core mounted to rotate therein. The key shaft (10.3) has an edge profile and may be inserted in a key way of the cylinder core in which displaceable tumblers (41, 42) are located transverse to the above. The key shaft (10.3) has profiled recesses running in the longitudinal direction, comprising a pair of follow points for each tumbler (41, 42) for coding the key, whilst the tumbler (41, 42) has a pair of counter follow points which are the basis of the corresponding counter coding. According to this invention, a space-saving design of the lock device may be achieved with a large range of variation for the coding wherein both follow points are on the key shaft (10.3) in the form of recesses, arranged on opposing lateral surfaces to an edge (57.2; 57.3) of the edge profile of the key shaft (10.3). A web (22; 23) is thus generated in the corner region of the edge profile between both recesses. Said web functions a code web (22; 23), as the opposing web edges serve for the coding. The corresponding tumblers (41, 42) have a cut-out, which in use enclose the code web (22; 23) on opposing web edges. The lateral limits of the cut-out form the counter follow points in the tumblers (41, 42).

    • A lock device having a key and a lock cylinder. The lock cylinder includes a fixed cylinder housing and a cylinder core mounted to rotate therein. The key shaft (10.3) has an edge profile and may be inserted in a key way of the cylinder core in which displaceable tumblers (41, 42) are located transverse to the above. The key shaft (10.3) has profiled recesses running in the longitudinal direction. A space-saving design of the lock device is achieved with a large range of variation for the coding wherein both follow points are on the key shaft (10.3) in the form of recesses, arranged on opposing lateral surfaces to an edge (57.2; 57.3) of the edge profile of the key shaft (10.3). A web (22: 23) is thus generated in the corner region of the edge profile between both recesses. The web functions as a code web (22; 23), as the opposing web edges serve for the coding. The corresponding tumblers (41, 42) have a cut-out, which in use enclose the code web (22; 23) on opposing web edges. The lateral limits of the cut-out form the counter follow points in the tumblers (41, 42).

    • The locking device consists of a locking cylinder and a key (20.2). The locking cylinder comprises a cylinder core with tumblers (13. 14.1) in a cylinder core, which is rotatably mounted in a cylinder housing.     • In order to enable a turning of a key of a lock cylinder onto a driven member (shaft 36) in the lock cylinder only when a proper key is inserted, yet to prohibit the turning in case of an overload, an overload lock is arranged therebetween. The driven member (shaft 36) should specifically actuate functions in the vehicle only if the correct key is used. A threshold rotation torque determines the change between the normal and the overload state. In order to improve the lock cylinder, it is furnished that a disengaging lever (40) is mounted in the cylinder housing (30) in a pivotable manner (42) and can be displaced between two pivot positions in a radial plane defined by the longitudinal axis (13) of the lock cylinder. A locking cam (41) belonging to the overload lock is arranged on the free end of the disengaging lever (40). When the disengaging lever pivots, a carrier (50) pivots in unison, the carrier having a coupling part which engages in a counter coupling part of the cylinder core (10) during normal function. The disengaging lever (40) and the carrier (50) form a common pivot unit. In case of overload, wherein a rotation of the cylinder core force, the carrier (50) is decoupled from the cylinder core (10).

    • In order to enable a turning of a key of a lock cylinder onto a driven member (shaft 36) in the lock cylinder only when a proper key is inserted, yet to prohibit the turning in case of an overload, an overload lock is arranged therebetween. The driven member (shaft 36) should specifically actuate functions in the vehicle only if the correct key is used.     • A locking device comprises a key (10) and a locking cylinder (30). The locking cylinder (30) in turn is composed of a stationary cylinder housing (31) and a cylinder core (32) rotatably supported therein. In order to increase the break-in safety, it is proposed to use two types of plate closures (40, 50) in the cylinder core (32), the displacement of that closure pointing into two radial directions (41, 51) that differ from each other. The key (10) comprises planar outer surfaces (12, 13) disposed at an angle to each other, the two types of plate closures (40, 50) being parallel displaceable to said surfaces. Each of the two adjoining outer surfaces (12, 13) has a dedicated linear control path (21, 22), which varies in adjoining key sections transversely to the key longitudinal direction (29) for coding the key (10). Accordingly, the plate closures (40, 50) have a pair of mating sampling sites (42, 52), which are disposed in defined positions and interact with the associated control path (21, 22) when the key (10) is inserted and generate a mating coding analogous thereto in the locking cylinder (30). Each of the two types of plate closures (40, 50) engages on the dedicated control path (21, 22) thereof.
