    • A driving method for an electrophoretic display including first electrodes, a second electrode, and electrophoretic particles positioned in pixel areas, includes applying a reset voltage to the particles, applying a reset compensation voltage having an opposite polarity to that of the reset voltage to the particles after applying the reset voltage, applying an image displaying compensation voltage having a same polarity as the reset compensation voltage to the particles positioned in at least one of the pixel areas after applying the reset compensation voltage, and applying an image displaying voltage having an opposite polarity to that of the image displaying compensation voltage to the particles positioned in the at least one of the pixel areas. Accordingly, the pixel electrode may be refreshed without inversed images such that the display performance of the electrophoretic display may be improved.

    • In a display device and a method of driving the display device each having an improved image display quality, the display device includes the display panel assembly, a light emitting unit and a control unit. The display panel assembly has a plurality of unit pixels and displays an image. The light emitting unit is disposed under the display panel assembly to supply light to the display panel assembly, and has a plurality of light emitting diodes (“LEDs”) corresponding to a unit pixel group including a given number of the unit pixels. The control unit is electrically connected to the display panel assembly and the light emitting unit, and controls the unit pixels by arbitrary regions and the LEDs by arbitrary regions. Thus, a contrast ratio of the display device is increased to improve image display quality.

    • A method of displaying images on an electrophoretic display (“EPD”) panel includes displaying a (K)-th image on the EPD panel including a plurality of electrophoretic particles, wherein K denotes a natural number. Then, when an interrupt signal for converting images is inputted during one of a plurality of driving intervals, a charge of the electrophoretic particles is compensated, which is charged in correspondence with the (K)-th image displayed on the EPD panel before the interrupt signal is inputted, and then a (K+1)-th image is displayed on the EPD panel. Thus, when the interrupt signal is inputted during one of the driving intervals displaying the (K)-th image data, the charges that are charged in the particles are compensated in correspondence to the (K)-th image data, and then the (K+1)-th image is displayed so that display quality may be enhanced.
