    • The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus and method, a recording medium, and a program by which a content viewed at the same time by speakers at remote places and images and sound of the speakers are recorded in such a state that the images and sound of the speakers can be reproduced. At step S11, synthesis information including parameters relating to setting of a synthesis situation of an image and sound of a content and images and sound of users and information representative of standard time at present is produced and stored. At step S13, recording of the content being currently played back is started with the standard time added to the content. At step S15, recording of real-time data of the user A and so forth is started with the standard time added to the real-time data. At step S17, recording of real-time data of the user X is started with the standard time added to the real-time data. At step S18, it is decided whether or not the setting for synthesis is changed, and if the setting is changed, then the synthesis information is re-produced and stored at step S19. The present invention can be applied, for example, to communication apparatus for communication between remote places.

    • This invention relates to an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, a recording medium, and a program for allowing communicating parties at remote locations to view the same displayed content and to point to desired positions on the displayed image of the content. A user A and a user B viewing themselves and the content on a cross-faded mode may point to desired positions on the content image with their fingertips. Motion vectors of the fingertips are then detected in particular areas extracted from the image in a manner containing the detected positions. The detected motion vectors are translated into a pointer 94 for the user A and a pointer 95 for the user B, the pointers being alpha-blended with the content image. The two pointers extracted from a single image 91 are associated with the users A and B by use of different Cyber Codes (2D code) 101 attached to the fingertips of each user, for example. This invention applies illustratively to communication apparatuses for permitting communication between remote locations.
