    • A coordinate position detection device according to the present invention includes: charging circuits having both the capability of charging a coupling capacitance in a capacitive-coupling touch panel with a position-detection resistive film whose potential periodically varies between a positive potential and a negative potential and the capability of restoring the charged coupling capacitance to its state prior to charging; current-to-voltage conversion circuits converting into a voltage the total amount of charging currents of the coupling capacitance after the charging circuits supply the charging current to the coupling capacitance a plurality of times; and a computation device detecting the coordinate position of a touched area based on the outputs of the current-to-voltage conversion circuits. The coordinate position detection device is characterized in that the number of charging operations performed when the potential at the position-detection resistive film is positive is substantially equal to the number of charging operations performed when the potential at the position-detection resistive film is negative. With this configuration, it is possible to improve the accuracy with which the coordinate position of a touched area is detected even when the potential at the position-detection resistive film periodically varies.

    • Provided is a display device with a touch sensor that can avoid the influence of noise originating from the polarity inversion of a common voltage of the display device without using special circuitry. The display device with a touch sensor includes a sensor output readout circuit (21) that is sequentially connected to multiple sensor electrodes in a touch sensor unit (7) and outputs signal voltages that correspond to the electrical characteristics of the electrodes, a sensor control circuit (23) that supplies a control signal to the sensor output readout circuit (21), and a coordinate computation circuit (22) that detects a contact position based on the signal voltages. The sensor control circuit (23) causes a scan operation, in which the sensor output readout circuit (21) is sequentially connected to all of the sensor electrodes of the touch sensor unit (7) and outputs the signal voltages, to start after the common voltage has switched from a first polarity to a second polarity, and to end before the common voltage returns to the first polarity.

It is a touch-sensor-equipped display device that includes: a sensor output readout circuit (21) that is connected to a plurality of sensor electrodes of a touch sensor part (7) successively, and that outputs a signal voltage corresponding to electric characteristics of the connected sensor electrode; a sensor control circuit (23) that supplies a control signal to the sensor output readout circuit (21); and a coordinate calculation circuit (22) that detects a contact position, based on the signal voltage. The sensor control circuit (23) performs a scanning operation for obtaining full-screen sensor data in such a manner that the scanning operation is divided into a plurality of parts. The coordinate calculation circuit (22) includes: a sensor output synthesis circuit (221) that synthesizes the sensor data obtained by the plurality of divided parts of the scanning operation so as to generate full-screen sensor data; and a coordinate position detection circuit (222) that detects the position of the contact by the touching object, based on full-screen sensor data.
