    • An exhaust gas cleaner for removing nitrogen oxides by reduction from an exhaust gas containing nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, moisture, unburned or partially burned components and oxygen, a content of oxygen in the exhaust gas being larger than a stoichiometric amount required for completely oxidizing or burning the unburned or partially burned components, wherein the exhaust gas cleaner consists essentially of a first catalyst consisting essentially of a first porous inorganic oxide carrying at least one silver component, and at least one transition metal component selected from the group consisting of copper, iron, cobalt, nickel and compounds thereof; and a second catalyst selected from the group consisting of (a) a catalyst consisting essentially of a porous titania, (b) a catalyst consisting essentially of a second porous inorganic oxide carrying a titanium component, (c) a catalyst consisting essentially of the second porous inorganic oxide carrying at least one first component selected from the group consisting of copper, nickel, silver, cobalt and compounds thereof, at least one second component selected from the group consisting of titanium, zirconium and compounds thereof, and at least one third component selected from the group consisting of alkali metal elements and rare earth elements, and (d) a catalyst consisting essentially of the second porous inorganic oxide carrying a titanium component and at least one noble metal component selected from the group consisting of platinum, palladium, ruthenium, rhodium, iridium and gold.

    • Provided is a seal ring that has low-leakage characteristics and low-friction characteristics and can improve the drive loss of the automatic transmission of an automobile to thereby contribute to an improvement in the fuel consumption of the automobile. The seal ring is attached to a shaft groove formed on the outer peripheral surface of a shaft. A plurality of peripherally spaced recessed sections are formed on at least the inner peripheral side of a contact side-surface. Inner walls are provided on the inner peripheral side of the recessed sections, and oil introduction openings that open on an inner peripheral surface are provided on the inner peripheral side of the recessed sections. The inner walls may be provided on opposite peripheral sides of the recessed sections but may be provided only on the rear side in the rotation direction.

    • A virtual-space hazard assessment system, for use in a virtual space, having target identifying information that identifies a target that appears in the virtual space. The system includes: a hazard-rating-request receiver for receiving a hazard rating request to rate the degree of hazard of the target; hazard storage for storing a table in which the degree of hazard of the target and the target identifying information are associated with each other; a hazard-degree increasing mechanism for increasing the degree of hazard of the target stored in the table in the hazard storage according to the degree of hazard received by the hazard-rating-request receiver; a hazard-degree decreasing mechanism for decreasing the degree of hazard stored in the table in the hazard storage with the elapse of time; and hazard-information-output instructing mechanism for issuing an instruction to output hazard information stored in the hazard storage.
