A signal to interference power ratio measuring apparatus includes a plurality of interference replica signal production sections for performing de-spread processing for input signals originating from a received signal, performing temporary decision of information symbols regarding the input signals, performing spread processing again for the input signals and outputting resulting signals as interference replica signals, a plurality of subtractors for subtracting the interference replica signals from the received signal, an interference power detection section for detecting interference power information, a signal power detection section for detecting signal power information, and a signal to interference power ratio calculation section for calculating signal to interference power ratios from the interference power information and the signal power information.

    • An array antenna system of a wireless base station in CDMA mobile communications combines signals, which have been received by a plurality of antenna elements of an array antenna, upon subjecting the signals to amplitude and phase-rotation control, and despreads the combined signal. A searcher has matched filters which apply correlation operations to output signals from respective antenna elements to thereby calculate correlation signals that are correlated with a signal transmitted from a mobile station of interest. An adaptive weight calculating unit calculates adaptive weights for obtaining in-phase correlation signals from the respective antenna outputs. A beam former multiplies, by the adaptive weights, output signals from the corresponding antenna elements and combines the resulting products to output a combined signal. The combined signal is found for each path of multipaths and is input to a Rake receiver, which proceeds to identify data.

    • The present invention is directed to an interference canceller for a DS-CDMA communication system and a radio communication device that performs multi-rate transmission and eliminates interference of high-rate channels by a simplified structure. In a DS-CDMA communication system that performs a multi-rate transmission including at least low-rate channels and high-rate channels, there is provided an interference canceller that includes an array antenna interference replicating unit. The interference replicating unit is used in high-rate channels that receive signals received via array antenna elements and creates interference replicas of the high-rate channels. The system also includes an adder 6, which subtracts the interference replicas from the received signal via the array antenna elements. Further a resultant interference-eliminated signal is applied to receivers for the low-rate and high-rate channels.
