    • A diagnosis apparatus of solenoid drive circuits for an anti-lock braking system. In the diagnosis apparatus, each comparator outputs H-level signal to each counter in reply to the turning-on of a solenoid of a solenoid valve to reset and start the counter. When the counter counts a predetermined time TI, the counter outputs a carry signal to an OR gate and a diagnosis decision circuit where AND operation of two pairs of the outputs of the counters by each brake hydraulic unit is executed and OR operation of the outputs of the AND elements is execute. A select circuit receives a check signal indicative of a diagnosis executing mode and outputs the diagnosis result to a microcomputer for ABS control. Therefore, the diagnosis is collectively executed to all brake hydraulic systems without degrading the drivability of the vehicle.

    • Accompanied by turning on power, power ON reset pulse from a power ON reset generation circuit is input to CPU and a fail determining circuit. After receiving the power ON reset pulse, the fail determining circuit intentionally outputs a fail detection signal. The CPU intentionally stops output of PRUN signal after confirming that fail detection signal. WDT confirms that output of the PRUN signal from the CPU is stopped in a predetermined time interval T and outputs PRUN abnormality signal. A reset pulse generation circuit confirms that PRUN abnormality signal is supplied from the WDT and outputs a reset pulse. A fail determining circuit receives a reset pulse and stops output of fail detection signal. When the fail determining circuit stops output of the fail detection signal, the CPU determines that the WDT, the reset pulse generation circuit and the fail determining circuit are in normal state. Thus, this monitoring system for electronic control unit is capable of diagnosing the WDT, the reset pulse generation circuit and the fail determining circuit at the time of self-diagnosis.

    • A magnetization reversal device includes a ferromagnetic 12 body which is provided in an interconnection of a non-ferromagnetic dot 11 so that a part or a whole of the ferromagnetic dot is three-dimensionally buried in the interconnection of said non-ferromagnetic dot, and a spin injection source 13 which generates a spin-polarized pure spin current without a flow of charges, and which is provided in the interconnection of the non-ferromagnetic dot 11 to be in contact therewith so that the interconnection of the non-ferromagnetic dot serves as a common electrode, and the pure spin current flows into the ferromagnetic dot 2 through the interconnection of the non-magnetic body by the spin injection source 13 due to a diffusion current, to thereby reverse magnetization of the ferromagnetic dot 12. By injecting the pure spin current, using this planar structure, it is possible to easily carry out the magnetization reversal of the ferromagnetic dot 12 even if it is a thick film ferromagnetic dot without being subjected to limitation of a spin diffusion length.
