    • According to one embodiment, a radio communication apparatus includes a transmitting and receiving section, a preamble detecting section, a data detecting section, and a response-time setting section. The transmitting and receiving section transmits an inquiry signal to a radio tag and receives a response signal returned from the radio tag. The preamble detecting section detects, within a period set with reference to transmission timing of the inquiry signal, a preamble included in the response signal returned by the radio tag that receives the inquiry signal. The data detecting section detects, when the preamble is detected, data included in the response signal. The response-time setting section sets, according to a parameter peculiar to the apparatus, a response time from the reception of the response signal from the radio tag until the transmission of the next inquiry signal to the radio tag by the transmitting and receiving section.

    • An RFID interrogator device has a transmission section for transmitting a command to an RFID tag and a reception section for receiving an RF signal from the RFID tag and is configured to perform backscatter radio communication with the RFID tag. The RFID interrogator device comprises a time window setting section configured to set a time window at timing of receiving preamble data added to a head of response data transmitted from the RFID tag in response to the command, and an identifying data storage section storing preamble identifying data. The RFID interrogator device compares the data received within the time window, with preamble identifying data stored in the identifying data storage section, thereby determining whether the data received is identical to the preamble data transmitted from the RFID tag.

    • A motor-driven airflow control device is provided wherein an inductance-based non-contact rotation angle sensor is compactly formed at an end of a throttle shaft. An exciting conductor is attached at an end of a rotating shaft to which a throttle valve is attached, a window hole is provided on a gear cover, a stationary substrate with energizing and signal-generating conductors formed thereon is attached to the gear cover so as to face the exciting conductor on the rotating shaft side through the window hole, and the window hole of the gear cover is covered by a thin shield member. The energizing and signal-generating conductors can be shielded from a space where the exciting conductor of the rotary member is arranged, making it possible to obtain a highly reliable motor-driven airflow control device including an inductance-based non-contact rotation angle sensor which is not affected by environments on the rotary member side.
