摘要： An apparatus for combined digital and optical processing of a cryptocurrency data block includes a digital processor that computes a hash vector from the cryptocurrency data block; a laser and splitter that produces optical input signals; optical modulators that binary phase-shift key modulate the optical input signals based on the hash vector; a photonic matrix multiplier circuit that performs an optically perform a discrete matrix-vector product operation on the modulated optical input signals to produce optical output signals, where the discrete matrix-vector product operation is defined by matrix elements limited to K discrete values, where 2≤K≤17; and photodetectors and comparators that perform optoelectronic conversions of the optical output signals to produce corresponding digital electronic output signals. The digital processor performs a second hash computation on an XOR result between the digital electronic output signals and the hash vector to produce a proof of work result.

摘要： An axially swept light sheet fluorescence microscope has illumination optics capable scanning the focus region of a line beam along an illumination optical axis to illuminate a light sheet in a sample plane, and detection optics capable of collecting fluorescence light from the sample plane and imaging the collected light on a light detector with a rolling shutter. A microcontroller synchronizes the rolling shutter with the scanning of the focus region. The illumination optics performs the axial scanning using a linear phased array of independently controllable electrostatically driven optical elements controlled by the microcontroller.

The spacer provides a light-directing optical region that separates the scanning mirror and the optics region, and includes a mirrored surface that reflects light between the light-access port and the optics region. Additionally, the optics region includes a curved-shaped window that provides a field of view by communicating beams of light between a target region. The optics region also includes a curved-shaped mirror having a surface that reflects light between the scanning mirror and the mirrored surface. Light beams, as conveyed between the light-access port and the curved-shaped window, are folded by being reflected off the scanning mirror, the curved-shaped mirror and the mirrored surface.

摘要： A high-bandwidth AFM probe having a diffraction grating characterized by a diffraction characteristic that monotonically changes along the length of the diffraction grating is disclosed. AFM probes in accordance with the present invention are capable of high-sensitivity performance over a broad range of operating conditions, such as operating wavelength and measurement media. A method for estimating at least one physical property of a surface based on high-frequency signal components in the output signal from a high-bandwidth AFM probe is also disclosed. The method enables determination of tip-surface interaction forces based on the relationship between a first motion of the base of the AFM probe and a second motion of the tip of the AFM probe.
