    • A rotary compressor for compressing fluid. A housing having a cylindrical internal cavity is provided with vanes and delivery ports. A rotor is rotatably mounted in the housing. The rotor has a portion for making a sealing contact with the inner peripheral surface of the housing. The rotor has a suction chamber formed therein. The number of the vanes is greater by 1 (one) than the number of the sealing contacts between the rotor and the inner peripheral surface of the housing. At least one suction port is formed through the wall of the rotor, so that the fluid in the suction chamber may be sucked into the working chamber defined by the vanes, rotor and the housing. The suction port is so located that, when a working chamber has been expanded to its maximum volume, the suction port is positioned between the vane located at the leading side of the working chamber as viewed in the direction or rotation of the rotor and the sealing portion closer to the vane. The fluid compressed in the working chamber is delivered to the outside of the housing through the delivery ports.

    • A swash plate type compressor adapted for use in an automotive cooling system is disclosed. A cylinder block, which forms a principal part of the compressor and is axially divided into two portions, has at least four bores arranged at equal distances along the circumference thereof. A clamping bolt for uniting all principal members of the compressor extends through a hole provided through a narrow interzone lying between each two adjacent bores. The through hole has a diameter considerably greater than that of the clamping bolt. The space between the inner surface of the hole and the outer surface of the bolt serves as a passage through which a low pressure refrigerant gas flows, and this helps simplification in construction and improvement in capacity of the swash plate type compressor.

    • The volumetric fluid compressor device or so-called scroll type compressor device comprises a rotary shaft mounted centrally at the front side of a housing and a movable scroll member having its scroll portion partially contacted with a scroll portion of a fixed scroll member. Sealed chambers or compression chambers delimited between the two scroll portions are contracted towards the center for compressing the refrigerant gas therein. A slider is mounted at the inner end of the rotary shaft for reciprocation radially thereof. An offset pin having an axis offset from the axis of the rotary shaft is fast with the slider and carries the movable scroll member. The slider is normally urged by a compression spring in a direction to reduce the amount of offset, that is, to reduce the radius of offset rotation of the offset pin, and may be urged by the pressure in the compression chamber in a direction to increase the radius of offset rotation of the offset pin against resiliency of the compression spring. With increase in the radius of offset rotation, the contact pressure between the movable and fixed scroll portions is increased with resulting increase of the force of sealing.

    • A certification device 101 encrypts a feature vector for registration by using a random number and a public key which is set to correspond to a secret key in a decryption device 103. In authentication, the certification device encrypts a feature vector for authentication by using the public key and a random number. With the two encrypted feature vectors being kept encrypted, the authentication device generates encrypted similarity degree information from which the decryption device can derive the similarity degree between the two feature vectors by a decryption process using the secret key. The decryption device 103 decrypts the encrypted similarity degree information to derive the similarity degree of the plaintext. The authentication device 102, if the similarity degree is equal to or larger than a threshold, determines that the user is the correct user. The similarity degree can be derived without using the feature vector of the plaintext. Thus, secure identity authentication with a lower possibility of plaintext theft can be realized.
