    • A CTP system is provided, which allows its continuous use even if some of laser diodes located at dispersed sites are in a non-light emitting state due to breakage or the like. In the case where some channels are in the non-light emitting state, channel-by-channel exposure data is generated to describe the way that exposure should be performed by use of specific light-emitting channels that are determined by the locations of non-light emitting channels, while an exposure head is moved also through (a) complementary interval(s) before and/or after a standard interval, the standard interval being the interval the exposure head is moved through in normal mode. Then, the transport unit moves the exposure head through the standard interval and through the complementary interval(s), during which period the exposure controller causes the specific light-emitting channels to emit exposure light according to the channel-by-channel exposure data, thereby forming an exposed area.

    • In a separator for separating a stripping sheet from a composite film formed by a base sheet and the stripping sheet which are superposed with each other, the composite film is first so carried and arranged that its forward end portion extends over a separating clearance formed in a support, and then a blade is pushed into the separating clearance for thrusting the composite film into the separating clearance in a bent state. Thus, the forward end portion of the composite film is separated (i.e., delaminated). Thereafter the base sheet and the stripping sheet are independently sucked/held on the delaminated forward end portion, and the stripping sheet is completely separated from the base sheet while widening the space between the held positions of these sheets. Due to the aforementioned structure and operation, the composite film can be separated in a simple structure with minimum force, and the separator can be reduced in size and power.

    • In an exposure device comprising a laser controller that is configured as a circuit board capable of independently being changed, and that controls the emission of laser light from a laser emitter emitting laser light on receipt of an instruction for control given from a main controller responsible for overall control of the operation of the exposure device, error control information that is obtained in advance with regard to the circuit board and controls variations of a controlling factor due to a circuit error of the circuit board is stored into a memory provided to the laser controller prior to the provision of the circuit board to the exposure device. On receipt of an instruction for control given from the main controller to cause the emission of laser light in a predetermined amount of light, the laser controller determines a condition of emission of laser light based on the error control information stored in the memory to cause the laser emitter to emit laser light under the condition of emission.
