摘要： Disclosed are applicators and methods for injecting a liquid, such as anesthetic, into a patient with no or minimal pain. The applicator includes a coupling and a blade rotatably mounted on the coupling. The coupling is arranged to receive a cartridge in which a cannula is mounted such that the cannula extends through a proximal channel of the coupling and into a distal channel of the blade. The coupling is further arranged to secure the applicator to a source of liquid such that the liquid can be selectively introduced into and through the cannula into the tissue of the patient. The blade is thin enough for atraumatic insertion into a gingival sulcus of the patient.

摘要： Disclosed are applicators and methods injecting of a liquid anesthetic into a dental patient with no or minimal pain. In accordance with one embodiment the applicator is for intraligamentary injection and includes an elongated, thin member having an open distal free formed of a resilient and somewhat conformable material suitable for producing a substantially fluid-tight interface with the anatomic structures at the gingival sulcus to inject the anesthetic therein. In another embodiment the applicator includes a flexible skirt surrounding a sharpened cannula, with the cannula being movable with respect to the skirt. The skirt is arranged to receive the anesthetic to anesthetize the gum, whereupon the cannula can then pierce the gum to inject the anesthetic into the underlying anatomic structure.

摘要： Disclosed are applicators and methods injecting of a liquid anesthetic into a dental patient with no or minimal pain. 摘要： A bi-polar implant system for use in a patient's jawbone includes an undersized drill shaped cavity formed in a patient's jawbone for receiving a bi-polar implant assembly. A proximal tapered portion is positioned at a proximal end of the bi-polar implant assembly. An expandable skirt portion adjacent to the proximal tapered portion forms a distal end of the bi-polar implant assembly, where the expandable skirt portion includes a plurality of moveable bone anchor segments. A draw screw has a threaded shank portion positioned to cooperate with an expansion nut. Rotation of the draw screw draws the expansion nut upwards into the expandable skirt portion for forcing the movable bone anchor segments into locking engagement with the jawbone. The proximal tapered portion and the expandable skirt portion exhibit an hourglass shape for providing double compaction on the jawbone within the drill shaped cavity for stabilizing the bi-polar implant assembly.

摘要： A dental assembly includes an implant having a tubular body portion which can be positively secured within a bore in a jawbone by an expander mechanism, and a two-piece abutment secured to the implant and having a collar which is incapable of rotation with respect thereto. In a related process for preparing a tooth prosthesis, a transfer sleeve is utilized in a process to replicate conditions in the mouth, including the configuration of the abutment assembly, in manufacturing a custom analog. A custom analog is cast into a stone mold to provide an exact duplicate of the mouth. From this stone mold a crown can be manufactured in a laboratory to precisely fit in the user's mouth over a customized abutment. A treatment crown sleeve may be utilized in connection with a provisional tooth.
