摘要： A portable stethoscope warming device incorporating an exothermic reaction heating element and adapted to be used with both diaphragm type and bell type stethoscopes. The device generally comprises a pouch member having a first pocket and a second pocket formed therein. The first pocket is adapted to receive either a diaphragm member or the bell member of conventionally known bell and diaphragm type stethoscopes. The second pocket is adapted to receive a heating element which comprises a packet having a bulkhead therein which, when ruptured, allows chemicals contained within the packet to mix in a manner producing a prolonged exothermic reaction. The second pocket is disposed directly adjacent the first pocket such that the heating packet is operable to warm the skin contacting surface of the diaphragm or bell member of the stethoscope.

摘要： A disposable non-woven drape for use in gynecologic and proctologic examination of female patients. It includes an inexpensive, disposable sheet of non-woven material large enough to provide coverage for the abdomen, perineum and thighs for an adult patient. The distal portion of the drape is incised in such a fashion as to provide sections of the drape. By virtue of gravity, these sections of the drape fall into place and cover the lower abdomen, perineum and thighs, both left and right. This unique invention provides mental comfort, modesty and privacy for the patient and a heightened sense of caring by the physician.

摘要： This invention relates to an impact-cushioning device, which is designed to prevent injury when an occupant, confused or otherwise, falls from a height. This may be a bed or bunk, gurney or examination table. The device generally comprises an impact-reducing cushion. This cushion may be air filled or of a variety of impact absorbing materials. Also provided is a means of displacing the cushion to intercept the falling individual before he or she strikes the floor. The departure of the individual from the bed is detected by signals that are generated when one or more edge pressure switches are actuated simultaneously with signals from one or more light beam sensors. Signals thus generated are processed through an electronics module and passed to a solenoid valve. When the valve opens, gas from a canister is passed to a telescoping device. This in turn displaces the cushion. Thus a protective barrier is placed between the bed occupant and the floor.
