    • An arrangement is provided for leveling the blade housing of a mower. The housing is suspended from the underside of a vehicle frame by a pair of suspension arms pivotally connected to the housing and the frame. A pair of brackets are joined to opposite sides of the housing, and a third bracket is joined to an end of the housing. An operator-controlled lift handle is connected to a rod pivotally connected to the frame. Three lift arms are joined to the rod so as to be displaced when the lift handle is actuated. First and second cables extend between respective ones of the pair of brackets, and a third cable extends between the third lift arm and the third bracket. The cables are selectively locked to their respective brackets. When the lift handle is activated to lower the housing to its maximum extent, unlocking of the cable permits the entire housing to settle on the ground. By tensioning the cables and then re-locking them to their respective brackets, actuation of the handle to lift the housing permits the housing to be raised in a level relationship to the ground.

    • An X-ray transparent mask (51) is comprised of a support ring (42) with a planar substrate stabilizer (41) thereon, the stabilizer having a plurality of apertures (43) therethrough, arranged in a "checkerboard" fashion. A thin X-ray transparent mask substrate (52) is placed over the stabilizer. (41), the substrate having X-ray absorptive metallized patterns (53) thereon which are aligned with the apertures (43). The mask (51) is positioned proximate a semiconductor wafer (56) having a photoresist coating (30) thereon. X-rays (14) are directed at the photoresist coating (30) through the apertures (43) to selectively expose the coating. The mask (51) is then indexed one aperture position and the remaining portion of coating (30) is exposed to the X-rays (14).

    • An arrangement is provided for leveling the blade housing of a mower. The housing is suspended from the underside of a vehicle frame by pairs of connecting links pivotally connected to the housing and the frame. A pair of fixed plates, secured to opposite sides of the housing, are joined by pivotal connections to respective adjusting plates. The associated pairs of fixed and adjusting plates are provided with overlying slots which receive respective pins provided with locking structure which are selectively operable to lock the respective fixed and adjusting against movement relative to one another. At least one of the pins also extends through an aperture in a lift link. An operator-controlled lift lever is joined to a lift pin which passes through a slot in said lift link whereby actuation of the lift lever causes the housing to be raised or lowered. When lowered to engage the ground, unlocking of the pins permits the entire housing to be moved so as to be oriented with respect to the ground's surface whereby on re-locking of the pins and raising the housing, the housing is leveled relative to the ground.

    • A mechanism for controlling the direction and speed of an off-road vehicle having a frame, an operator seat, a steering wheel, an engine and a variable speed transmission coupled for driving at least one of a plurality of ground wheels. The mechanism comprises a floor plate carried by the vehicle for receiving the heel portion of an operator's foot, a pedal operatively connected to the variable speed transmission and pivotally mounted above the floor plate for movement between a forward zone for controlling the forward speed of the vehicle, a neutral zone wherein the vehicle is in neutral, and a reverse zone for controlling the reverse speed of the vehicle. The pedal has first and second portions generally inclined with respect to one another and each are adapted for engagement by a forward portion of the individual's foot so that engagement of the first portion with a predetermined amount of force moves the pedal into the forward zone of movement, and engagement with the second portion with a predetermined amount of force moves the pedal into the reverse zone of movement. The pedal is arranged relative to the floor plate in a manner which enables the individual to selectively access the first and second portions with the forward portion of the foot by pivoting the heel on the floor plate. The pedal has at least the second portion thereof disposed outboard of a side edge of the floor plate.
