    • The present teachings provide a blood purification apparatus and a priming method, which can reduce or dispense with dedicated components used for automated priming and which can reduce manufacturing costs of a blood circuit while achieving the automated priming. The present teachings further provide a blood purification apparatus including a liquid level adjustment device that can optionally introduce or discharge air into or from an upper portion of a venous air trap chamber, a control device that can adjust a liquid level formed inside the venous air trap chamber to have the height at any desired position by operating the liquid level adjustment device, and a priming solution supplying line that can supply a priming solution to an arterial blood circuit and a venous blood circuit. As taught herein, during priming, the control device can fill the arterial blood circuit and the venous blood circuit with priming solution supplied from the priming solution supplying line by operating the liquid level adjustment device at any desired timing.

    • A blood purification apparatus which can perform actions and operations according to the final stage of blood-return. Accordingly, a blood purification apparatus comprising a blood circuit including an arterial blood circuit and a venous blood circuit for extracorporeally circulating blood of a patient from a tip end of the arterial blood circuit to a tip end of the venous blood circuit; a blood purification means arranged between the arterial blood circuit and the venous blood circuit of the blood circuit and purifying blood flowing through the blood circuit; a substitution solution supplying means for supplying substitution solution to the blood circuit; and performing blood-return by substituting the blood in the blood circuit with the substitution solution supplied from the substitution solution supplying means after the blood purification treatment wherein the blood purification apparatus comprises a detecting means arranged at predetermined positions in the arterial blood circuit and the venous blood circuit and detecting presence or absence or blood concentration of the blood flowing in the arterial blood circuit and the venous blood circuit at said predetermined positrons, and a recognition means for recognizing a final stage of blood-return which is a condition near the end of the substitution of blood with the substitution solution based on the presence or absence of the blood or blood concentration detected by the detecting means.

    • A blood purification apparatus including a line section through which working dialysate to be introduced into a blood purifier or drain liquid discharged from the blood purifier is caused to flow; a delivery unit that delivers liquid in the line section; an introduction port connected to a supply route through which undiluted dialysate or the working dialysate is supplied, the introduction port allowing the undiluted dialysate or the working dialysate in the supply route to be introduced into the apparatus; an introduction route connected to the introduction port and through which the undiluted dialysate or the working dialysate introduced from the introduction port flows into the line section; a valve unit provided to the introduction route and being capable of opening or closing the introduction route by being opened or closed; and a control unit that controls an operation of opening or closing the valve unit. The control unit is capable of executing a flushing step in which when a cleaning solution or a disinfecting solution is caused to flow through the supply route, the valve unit is opened to allow the cleaning solution or the disinfecting solution flowing in the supply route to flow into the introduction route and through the line section to be discharged to an outside of the apparatus.
