    • A magnet-mounting member for holding permanent magnets against side faces of each claw-shaped magnetic pole has pairs of extreme-end and basal-end hooking tabs for preventing displacement of the permanent magnets in either a basal-end or extreme-end direction. The magnet-mounting member is configured such that a function of the basal-end hooking tabs to prevent displacement of the permanent magnets can be disabled by deforming the basal-end hooking tabs. When the magnet-mounting member is forced onto the claw-shaped magnetic pole, the basal-end hooking tabs go into contact with the permanent magnets and deform outward, whereby the magnet-retaining function of the basal-end hooking tabs is disabled. When the magnet-mounting member has been fully pushed onto the claw-shaped magnetic pole, the basal-end hooking tabs resume an original shape to prevent the permanent magnets from being displaced in either direction.

    • The electric rotating machine is provided with an intermediate plate having a power circuit connection portion that is connected with an outgoing lead drawn out from a power circuit unit and an armature winding connection portion that is connected with the power circuit connection portion and an outgoing lead drawn out from an armature winding. The power circuit connection portion and the armature winding connection portion are arranged at desired positions and outgoing leads from the armature winding of the stator are drawn out in such a way as to fall within a given space, so that intermediate connection lines for connecting windings can be shortened. Accordingly, not only the breakage of an intermediate connection line caused by a vibration can be prevented, but also the switching elements can separately be arranged so as to reduce thermal interference between the switching elements; therefore, the switching elements can effectively be cooled.

    • A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine can effectively suppress the rotational fluctuation of the engine by properly controlling the operating state of a rotating electrical machine without applying an excessive load to a power supply system connected to the rotating electrical machine. The rotating electrical machine is used for both electric operation and electric power generation, and is connected to the engine. A control circuit controls at least one of a field current and an armature current of the rotating electrical machine. A power supply system is connected to the rotating electrical machine. A rotational fluctuation suppression section (ECU) suppresses the rotational fluctuation of the engine by controlling an amount of electric power and generated torque of the rotating electrical machine in accordance with an electric power load of the vehicle, an amount of electric power of the power supply system, and the rotational speed of the rotating electrical machine.
