摘要： An angled shank blade for a carpet or tile stripping machine with a flat blade for engaging the surface of a floor. A shank attached to the blade at an angle for receiving the weight of the floor stripping machine and keeping the blade parallel to the floor. The blade has a carbide insert for long lasting skiving of material from the floor. The carbide tip is easily replaced to keep the leading edge sharp. The carbide insert being held parallel to the floor by the blade such that it cuts at a preferred carbide blade tip angle of about 45 degrees with respect to the surface of the floor.

摘要： An improved carpet stretching tool of the knee-kicker type is disclosed in which outer and inner overlapping, slidably adjustable shank members connect and space a carpet gripping head having a spike plate and a plurality of cotton head sections and a knee plate. A locking system is provided in which the relative positions of the shank members can be adjustably fixed thereby fixing the height of the tool. The locking system employs several teeth integral with the outer shank member and adapted to mesh against mating protuberances integral with the inner shank member and a resilient member to urge the teeth against the protuberances. The teeth have a small amount of negative rake pitch matched by the protuberances to produce a positive wedging of matching inclined planes. The tool also has an improved and simplified carpet gripping cotton head system which employs an unique cotton head assembly and spike plate control system.

摘要： A carpet handling tool for facilitating the gripping and pulling of carpeting by its edges. The tool comprises two arcuately curved handle members which are pivotally coupled together to form a fulcrum. Individually attached to each handle member is a gripper jaw in the form of a generally flat plate having its leading edge bent at a right angle and arranged such that the leading edge of one jaw member overlaps that of the other to define a predetermined space therebetween. When a segment of carpet is placed between the jaw members and the arcuate handles are squeezed together, the carpet is tightly gripped by the jaws and a substantial, two-handed pulling force may be applied to the handle members to manipulate the carpet.

A battery powered floor stripping machine may have batteries stored in the housing under the seat and have auxiliary batteries behind the seat on top of the housing for easy of removing the batteries for recharging. Additional batteries and or weights can be used on either side of the housing. In alternative embodiments the floor stripping machine can be remote controlled. Battery management with the auxiliary batteries being recharged during the day allows for eight hours of use. A trunk may store batteries, which can be slid onto a trailing cart to change batteries.

摘要： A planetary grinding machine having a simple design with a minimal number of parts, which are all easily accessible for maintenance and repair is disclosed. The machine has a rotating planetary disk with rotating screeding disks attached. The planetary disk is driven by a shaft extending through a top housing cover plate, which supports a transmission driven by a motor. As the planetary disk rotates, a single belt engages a stationary gear on the cover plate and pulleys on screeding disk shafts to turn the screeding disks as the planetary disk is turned. The belts and pulleys for the drive mechanism are sandwiched between the planetary disk and the top cover to protect the mechanisms from dust and debris. The bearings are sealed to prevent dust and debris from entering and oil from escaping. The bearings, being on the inside of the planetary disk, keep oil from landing on the floor.

摘要： The cushion back carpet cutting tool is a hand tool for cutting foam back carpeting that creates a clean straight cut through the carpeting so that a smooth unnoticeable seam results where two pieces of carpet material are brought together. The tool includes a leading edge on the center plate that opens the adjacent rows of tufts in the carpeting, three blades for cutting the carpeting between adjacent rows either close to the right row of tufts, left row of tufts or midway between the tufts, three plates that retain the blades and an adjustable retainer system for the blades, and a handle. The leading edge has an angle of less than 90 degrees from the horizontal and is rounded in shape to prevent loop or woven carpeting from catching on the tool, and also to keep the tool from jumping out of the row where the cut is being made. The blades are kept in place at an angle of between 15 to 25 degrees from the bottom edge of the tool, which results in a smoother cut being made in the carpeting. The amount that the blades extend downward is adjustable to accommodate different thicknesses of carpeting.

摘要： A machine for sewing a binding tape to a cut edge of carpeting comprises a wheel-mounted sewing machine having an opposed pair of pinch rollers engaging opposed sides of the carpeting, the pinch rollers being inset from the cut edge and one of the rollers being intermittently motor driven in synchronism with the reciprocating movement of the sewing machine's needle assembly. As the one pinch roller is driven, the sewing machine moves along the floor as the binding tape is played from a reel, folded longitudinally and stitched to the carpet edge. The machine incorporates a spring-biased needle guide which effectively surrounds the needle shank as it moves reciprocally up and down to create the stitches. This guide prevents deflection of the needle and possible breakage thereof should it encounter a hard object, such as a glue bead or the like in the carpet backing. The wheels on which the sewing machine rides are mounted on the bottom on a pan-shaped base which supports the sewing machine and prevents soiling of the carpet by lubricating grease. The pan-shaped base also shields certain of the mechanical linkages of the sewing machine from damage incident to rough handling.

摘要： A seam roller to be used when installing carpeting which, when used, draws the opposed edges of adjacent runs of carpeting together while applying a downward pressure to tightly bond the carpeting to an adhesive layer. The tool comprises a roller mounting plate having at least two pairs of integrally formed opposed legs bent out of the plane of the mounting plate a first of said pair being generally at right angles to the plane of the plate while a second pair is bent at a predetermined acute angle with respect to the plane of the plate. A first roller assembly is journaled for rotation on an axle extending between the first pair of legs while each of the legs in the other pair supports two flat disc-like washers on independent axles in a parallel and spaced-apart relationship to one another. The respective diameters of the spaced-apart washers rotationally supported on the second pair of legs are such that their peripheries lie in a common horizontal plane.When the above-described tool is drawn along the seam area between two runs of carpeting under which seam area an adhesive has been pre-applied, the skewed disc-like washers urge the two carpet edges together as the first roller forces the seam area downward into the softened adhesive resulting in an almost imperceptible seam between the two carpet runs.
