    • A radar is provided, which enables determination of whether a detected target is a false image generated by a side lobe of the beam received by the antenna. In the radar, the first phase difference is obtained by actually calculating the target angle in the angle calculating section, and by supplying the calculated angle to a theoretical formula (with respect to the phase difference) in the first phase-difference calculating section. The second phase difference is directly calculated using actual received signals in the second phase-difference calculating section. These phase differences are compared with each other by the phase-difference calculating section, thereby determining whether the target exists at a side-lobe angle position of the beam received by the receiving antenna, based on a difference between two phase-difference characteristics. Accordingly, it is possible to accurately determine a false image of the target, generated by a side lobe of the beam received by the antenna, without reducing the side-lobe level of the antenna.
