摘要： The electrically variable transmission family of the present invention provides low-content, low-cost electrically variable transmission mechanisms including three differential gear sets, a battery, two electric machines serving interchangeably as motors or generators and four or five selectable torque-transfer devices. The selectable torque transmitting devices are engaged to yield an EVT with a continuously variable range of speeds and five fixed speed ratios, four mechanically fixed forward speed ratios and one reverse speed ratio. The torque transmitting devices and the first and second motor/generators are operable to provide five operating modes in the electrically variable transmission, including battery reverse mode, EVT reverse mode, reverse and forward launch modes, continuously variable transmission range mode, and fixed ratio mode.

Two members of the first planetary gear set are connected for common rotation with two members of the second planetary gear set. A first motor/generator is connected for common rotation with a member of the first planetary gear set and a member of the second planetary gear set. An input member is connected to another member of the first planetary gear set. A first set of intermeshing gears includes a first gear connected for common rotation with one of the gears of the second planetary gear set and a second gear driven by a second motor/generator. A second set of intermeshing gears includes another gear driving the output member. A first clutch is engageable to establish an input-split mode. A second clutch is engageable to establish a compound-split mode.

摘要： A hybrid control system for a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) includes a hybrid control module. The hybrid control module includes a first motor control module that controls output torque of a first motor. A second motor control module controls output torque of a second motor based on a second motor torque request signal. The second motor torque request signal is generated based on a transmission output torque request signal prior to startup of an engine of the HEV. An override module generates a torque override request signal during the startup. The first motor control module controls output torque of the first motor to crank the engine during the startup. The second motor control module adjusts output torque of the second motor based on the torque override request signal and not the transmission output torque request signal during the startup to minimize vehicle jerk during the engine start.
