    • A power transmission apparatus is provided with a housing, which rotates together with an input shaft, a differential mechanism, and a main clutch. The main clutch links the input shaft and the first output shaft. The differential mechanism distributes drive force that is inputted from the input shaft via the housing into a first output shaft and a second output shaft. The differential mechanism is provided with a ring gear that is provided within the housing, a sun gear that is provided within the ring gear, and a planetary gear. The planetary gear is engaged with the ring gear and the sun gear and supported in such a manner as to be orbital and rotational. The first output shaft is linked to the ring gear. The main clutch is formed of a plurality of outer clutch plates and inner clutch plates, which are provided on the inner circumferential surface of the housing and on the outer circumferential surface of the ring gear.

    • A differential limiting apparatus includes a housing 2 rotated by driving force of a driving source, a differential mechanism 3 having a pair of output gears 3A, 3B to distribute the driving force to a pair of output shafts differentially, a clutch 4 disposed directly between the pair of output gears 3A, 3B and having the inner clutch plate 4A and an outer clutch plate 4B as an annular frictional plate to restrict a differential movement of the differential mechanism 3, and an output mechanism 5 driving the clutch 4. The output mechanism 5 includes a first cam 52C moved along an axial direction, and a pushing pin 35 as a transmitting member transmitting the axial movement of said first cam 52C to the clutch 4.

    • A vehicle differential apparatus includes: a differential case; two side gears; and two pinions. An axial center of each pinion is provided with a first pinion shaft insertion hole. A pinion shaft is inserted in the first pinion shaft insertion holes. An inner peripheral surface of the first pinion shaft insertion hole of each pinion is provided with two sliding surfaces that are slidable on one of two pinion inner peripheral surface-supporting portions of the pinion shaft, and a non-contacting surface that is not able to contact the pinion inner peripheral surface-supporting portion.     • A plurality of pinion gears 4A, 4B which are rotatably held within a differential case 2, a pair of left and right side gears 6L, 6R disposed in meshing engagement with the pinion gears and connected to left and right axles, respectively, and thrust washers 16L, 16R interposed between the rear surfaces of the side gears and the internal surface of the differential case are provided. The differential case is of a one-piece type, and is formed with an opening 2b in its sidewall, which is used in assembling the pinion gears and the like. The internal surface of the differential case is formed with pinion gear holders 12A, 12B. The pinion gears are inserted, followed by the insertion of the side gears. The side gears are spaced from the pinion gears by an amount corresponding to the thickness of the thrust washers, and this allows the side gears to be inserted in following relationship with the pinion gears.

    • In a differential gear system disclosed, a pair of sun gears and a plurality of pairs of planetary gears are received in a housing. The pair of sun gears are coaxial with a rotational axis of the housing. End portions of a pair of drive shafts extending through a pair of end walls of the housing are spline-engaged respectively with the pair of sun gears. The pair of sun gears have helical teeth, respectively. Each pair of intermeshing planetary gears are meshed respectively with the helical teeth of the pair of sun gears, respectively. A plurality of washers are interposed between the pair of sun gears. The plurality of washers have first washers and second washers, respectively, which first and second washers are alternately arranged. The first washers are engaged with end portions of reduced diameters of the sun gears such that the first washers are capable of moving axially but incapable of rotation. The second washers are engaged with the housing such that the second washers are capable of moving axially but incapable of rotation.
