    • Provided is a pulse modulation circuit that improves the on/off operation and improves the on/off ratio of an output power of the entire pulse modulation circuit in the switching operation. The pulse modulation circuit inputs a local oscillation wave and a DC pulse signal, mixes a second harmonic wave of the local oscillation wave with the DC pulse signal, and outputs an RF pulse signal. The pulse modulation circuit includes: a switch that inputs the local oscillation wave and attenuates the local oscillation wave at an off time more than at an on time; and a harmonic mixer that inputs the local oscillation wave affected by the switch and the DC pulse signal, mixes the second harmonic wave of the local oscillation wave with the DC pulse signal, and outputs the RF pulse signal, in which the switch is allowed to conduct the switching operation together with the harmonic mixer according to the DC pulse signal.

    • A musical tone synthesizing apparatus comprising FM operators and connection control device. At least one of the FM operators comprises a waveform memory, phase data generation device, and output inversion device. The waveform memory stores fundamental waveform data. The phase data generation device generates phase data as an address signal for accessing the waveform memory on the basis of a musical tone designation signal and a modulation signal inputted from an external circuit. The output inversion device selects whether a waveform signal read out from the waveform memory is outputted after sign inversion, or is outputted directly. The connection control device arbitrarily combine connections of the FM operators.

    • A magnetic tape cassette is provided with a pivotal closure lid pivotably secured to both sides of a casing for movement between a closed position, in which the front opening of the casing, through which a magnetic tape is accessible for loading onto a rotary head, is covered, and an open position wherein the closure lid is pivoted away from said opening to expose the tape while the cassette is in use. The magnetic tape cassette is also provided with a sliding closure member slidably mounted on the bottom of the casing and cooperative with the aforementioned pivotal closure lid. The sliding closure member is in a closed position while the pivotal closure lid is in its closed position, in which it covers a bottom clearance through which a device constituting part of a tape holding system is inserted, and in an open position while the pivotal closure lid is in its open position to allow the aforementioned device of the tape handling system to reach into the casing through the bottom clearance. A locking pin holds the sliding closure in the current one of its two positions. The sliding closure holds the pivotal closed while in its own closed position.

    • A signal transmission system has a modulation signal converter 1 that generates a modulation signal using a Manchester code with a duty ratio of 50% in accordance with transmission data; a clock generator 6 that generates a clock with the amount of delay with respect to the rising or falling edge of the modulation signal; and a data detector 5 that generates received data by sampling the modulation signal in synchronization with the clock. Since the modulation signal converter 1 generates the modulation signal by combining the Manchester code with the duty ratio of 50%, its duty ratio is always 50% independently of the transmission data, thereby preventing the DC offset of the modulation signal on the receiving side. Accordingly, it offers an advantage of achieving good communication quality with a simple circuit configuration without producing the DC offset in the modulation signal on the receiving side.
