    • A process for the preparation of honey powder preserving its natural aroma substances comprises(a) kneading 1 part by weight of honey, 0.8 part by weight of starch, pre-hydrolyzed starch or flour and 0.1-0.3 part by weight of cyclodextrin to yield a homogeneous mixture, subjecting the mixture thus obtained to thermal treatment at 100.degree. C. for 20 minutes, disintegrating the hot product obtained after thermal treatment, drying the product at a temperature of 50.degree.-55.degree. C., for 10-50 hours, adding 0.01-1.0% by weight of hydrophobic colloidal silicic acid or alkali earth stearate and grinding it to a powder; or(b) admixing 1 part by weight of honey with 6 parts by weight of a hot saturated aqueous cyclodextrin solution, freezing the homogeneous solution thus obtained, subjecting the product to lyphilization, adding 0.01-1.0% by weight of hydrophobic colloidal silicic acid or alkali earth stearate to the lyophilized product and grinding it to a powder.The advantage of the invention is that the aroma substances of honey are preserved and set free only during consumption.

    • The present invention relates to novel materials, particularly biomaterials, in form of a precipitate, comprising at least an anionic polymeric component which is as such soluble in water and an amphiphilic ammonium-type component, which precipitate is obtainable by a process including the following steps: 1. contacting the anionic polymeric component and an cyclodextrin component in an aqueous medium, and 2. adding to the mixture obtained in step 1 said amphiphilic ammonium-type component, wherein said components are present in amounts effective to form said precipitate, and preferably to corresponding precipitates additionally comprising said cyclodextrin component. Both types of precipitates may optionally comprise one or more further components. The precipitates are particularly useful as controlled-release depot formulations suitable for long-lasting delivery of said further components. The further components incorporated into the precipitates can be pharmaceutical compounds, pesticides, agrochemicals, colorants, diagnostics, enzymes, foodstuffs etc.

    • The invention relates to new sorbents of cellulose basis capable of forming inclusion complexes, as well as to a process for the preparation thereof. The new sorbents according to the invention are cellulose derivatives containing structural units of the general formula (I), ##STR1## wherein Cell is a group derived by removing m hydroxy groups from the glucose unit of the cellulose chain,m is an integer of 1 to 3,CD is a group derived by removing one hydroxy group from the .alpha., .beta. or .gamma.-cyclodextrin molecule,n is an integer of 1 to 5, andp stands for 0 or 1, which may optionally vary even within a single chain.The cellulose derivatives according to the invention are substances of loose structure, with large specific surface area and good swelling properties, which can be applied for solving the most diverse adsorption tasks. Thus e.g. the substances can be applied for the preparation of smoke filters in cigarettes, waste water purification (de-poisoning) filters, inserts for removing solvent vapors, etc., furthermore for solving specific tasks of fractionation according to molecular dimensions.
