摘要： The present invention relates to selective surfaces for collectors of solar and other thermally useful radiation. According to the invention, a zinc-coated metal plate having a thickness of between 2.mu. and 30.mu. is immersed in an alkaline bath containing 2 to 30 g/l OH.sup.- and comprising sodium nitrate and sodium hydroxide. Subsequently, the anodized plate is passivated in an acidic bath which contains more than 2 g/l H.sup.+. Preferred constituents in the acidic bath are selected from acidic phosphate salts, oxalic acid, chromium ions, sulfuric acid or mixtures of two or more thereof. The selective thermal radiation collector surfaces obtained possess improved radiation properties, being capable of maintaining them even under corrosive conditions.

摘要： Method for improved photolithography using a laser induced metallization cess to produce a metal mask wherein a work piece surface is treated to have a predetermined pattern of at least two materials each having different electron band gaps, the treated work piece is positioned in a metallizing solution, and the workpiece is exposed to a laser beam having a wavelength corresponding to the electron gap of a selected one of the materials. The method can advantageously be used to produce ohmic contacts for microcircuit devices.

摘要： In a network having a trace capability, a method to track the connectivity of the network uses the trace messages. A network manager creates a list of ports in the network and uses that list to track the connectivity. For each port, the manager first checks whether there is a current connection and if it finds one, records the connection. For the unconnected ports, the manager enables the transmission of a trace message that identifies the transmitting port. When a trace detected message is received from a port, the network manager updates the list of ports with the connection just reported and disables the trace message that was detected. A port sending a trace message that is not detected is marked as not connected in the list. The method is useful in high bandwidth circuit-based networks, such as optical networks, composed of links of many types and utilizing differing protocols.
