The fasteners include a first member, a second member, and a connecting member extending between the first and second members. The first and second members are substantially parallel to each other. The fasteners may be deployed in limited spaces and in various applications including the restoration of a gastroesophageal flap valve.

摘要： An intravascular support device includes a support or reshaper wire, a proximal anchor and a distal anchor. The support wire engages a vessel wall to change the shape of tissue adjacent the vessel in which the intravascular support is placed. The anchors and support wire are designed such that the vessel in which the support is placed remains open and can be accessed by other devices if necessary. The device provides a minimal metal surface area to blood flowing within the vessel to limit the creation of thrombosis. The anchors can be locked in place to secure the support within the vessel.

摘要： A tissue fastener assembly delivers a fastener for deployment. The assembly includes a fastener including a first member, a second member, the first and second members having first and second ends, and a flexible connecting member fixed to each of the first and second members intermediate the first and second ends and extending between the first and second members. The first member has a longitudinal axis and a through channel along the axis. The assembly further includes a deployment wire slidingly received within the through channel of the first member that pierces into the tissue and guides the first member through the tissue, a guide structure defining a lumen that receives the fastener and deployment wire and guides the deployment wire and fastener to the tissue, and a fastener configuration structure that orientates the second member in a predetermined position relative to the first member within the lumen for dependable deployment.

The intervention sequencer includes an atrial fibrillation detector for determining if atrial fibrillation is present in a patient's heart and a cardiovertor for applying cardioverting electrical energy to the atria of the patient's heart if the atrial fibrillation detector determines that atrial fibrillation is present. A sequence initiating stage includes a receiver for receiving a sequence command generated from external to the patient. The sequence initiating stage causes the intervention sequencer to perform the intervention sequence upon receipt of a sequence command.

The device includes a pulse generator having at least one alterable output parameter and circuitry responsive to first externally generated signals for altering the alterable output parameter in predetermined correspondence with the number of said first signals. The output parameter altering circuitry is enabled only during the occurrence of second signals having characteristics discriminable from the characteristics of the first signals. In a preferred embodiment, the first signals are pulses of radio frequency energy and the second signals are magnetic. The invention may be embodied in a cardiac pacemaker of either the asynchronous or demand type and the second signals may be employed to cause a demand cardiac pacemaker to revert to an asynchronous operation.
