    • The lock is of the type comprising a pivotal fork member movable between an unlocking position towards which it is biased resiliently and a locking position. A detent means is carried by an arm of a pivotal first lever which has two arms and is movable between a retaining position and a releasing position relative to a projecting portion of said fork member and biased towards the releasing position by an unlocking force exerted on the fork member. A second lever is mounted to pivot between a first position, towards which it is returned resiliently and in which it locks an end of the second arm of the first lever when the first lever is in its retaining position, and a second position in which it releases said end and towards which it can be shifted. The fork member comprises two successive locking projecting portions and there is provided a cam surface which is cooperative with a projecting portion of the second lever so as to cause the second lever to temporarily move to its second position when the second projecting portion of the fork member approaches the detent means in the course of the locking movement of the fork member.

    • A clutch is adapted to be interposed between an electric motor (1) and a gear train (5) for driving a screw on which is mounted a sleeve controlling a locking element. The clutch comprises weights (11) disposed in a hollow member (3) in a position radially of an output shaft (2) of the motor (1), said weights being biased by return springs (21) toward a de-clutched position of rest and being capable of being driven by the rotation of the shaft (2) to a clutching position in which they are engaged with the member (3). The weights (11) are mounted in a support constituted by a hub (12) defining a cavity (15) for the weights and by a cover (16) which closes said cavity (15) and is fixed to the hub (12). The cover (16) is adapted to permit the radial displacement of the weights (11) toward the member (3) under the effect of centrifugal force. This structure facilitates the placing in position of the weights and their assembly by an automatic machine.

    • The clutch comprises at least one weight (11), and preferably two weights, disposed in a bell element (3) radially of the output shaft (2) of the motor (1), subjected to the action of an elastic element (21) for biasing the weight to a de-clutched position at rest, and capable of being driven by centrifugal force developed by the rotation of the shaft (2) of the motor (1) to a clutching position in which the weight engages the bell element (3). The bell element (3) is provided internally with a stressed spring (24) which frictionally bears against the inner wall of the bell element and is provided with at least one clutch dog (24a), and preferably two clutch dogs, cooperative with the weight or weights (11). The spring (24) limits the torque and permits avoiding rebounds in the event of a sudden stoppage of the bell element (3) at the end of the travel of the actuator.

    • A radiation-tight coupling arrangement for coupling a machining laser to a hot cell containing radioactive material, comprising a cell flange integrally formed on the confinement wall which defines a cell opening, a cell door formed to interlock tightly with the cell flange, thereby closing the cell opening, an elongated container movably arranged in the sleeve and having a container flange defining a container opening and connected by a sealing bellows, a container door formed to interlock tightly with the container flange and to interlock with the cell door when the container flange interlocks with the cell flange, and a machining line translationally arranged in the container. When the container is in a retracted position, a radiation blocking drum intervenes between the cell opening and the container opening. The radiation blocking drum is rotated to allow the container to translate toward the cell. As a result of rotation of the container, the container flange interlocks with the cell flange and the container door interlocks with the cell door. The container door and cell door are then removed in tandem, allowing the machine head of the machining line to be inserted into the hot cell. The laser beam passes through the machine head and impinges on the radioactive material to be cut.
