    • A camera capable of changing over the photographing frame size thereof having a photographing frame size changing member disposed in a camera body and capable of moving between a first position at which the photographing frame size changing member partially covers a film exposing opening and a second position at which the changing member does not cover the film exposing opening; and an operation member disposed on a rear cover of the camera for selectively bringing the photographing frame size changing member to the first position or the second position, wherein the changing member and the operation member are non-mechanically connected to each other in a state where the film is interposed between the changing member and the operation member. In another embodiment flexible changing members, being positively driven, are guided from a position behind the film to a position in front of the film exposing opening. Visual and/or audible indicators are provided to alert an operator as to the photographing frame size.

    • This invention is directed to a camera in which an ordinary or normal photographing image-plane size, a photographing image-plane size narrower or smaller than the normal photographing image-plane size, for example, a panoramic size, and the like are changeable, the camera comprising a back closure openable and closable with respect to a camera body, an aperture arranged between a film and a photographing lens, for regulating an exposure range corresponding to the normal photographing image-plane size, a light shielding unit arranged between the film and the photographing lens and so arranged as to be movable between a saving position where the light shielding unit is saved (i.e. spaced) from the inside of the aperture so as not to interrupt an exposure luminous flux incident upon the aperture and a projecting position where the light shielding unit projects inwardly of the aperture to interrupt a part or substantially all of the exposure luminous flux, an operating unit for assigning the narrow photographing image-plane size, a detecting unit for detecting at least one camera operating condition including a power source condition of the camera, an opening and closing condition of the back closure, a forcible rewinding condition of the film and an exposure condition to a film surface, and a drive unit for driving the exposure unit, the drive unit driving the light shielding unit to the inward-most projected position or a saved position in spite of assignment of the operating unit in accordance with an output from the detecting unit.

    • A bifocal camera includes a first and second photographic optical systems which have focal lengths different from each other. A stationary mirror is arranged on the optical axis of the first optical system, and an exposure opening is positioned on the optical axis of the second optical system. A movable mirror is arranged to be movable between first and second positions. At the first position, the movable mirror interrupts incident light beams from the second optical system and guides incident light beams, which are passed through the first optical system and reflected by the stationary mirror, to the exposure opening. At the second position, the movable mirror interrupts the light beams reflected by the stationary mirror and allows the incident light beams form the second optical system to be made incident to the exposure opening. The movable mirror is shifted to the second position by a switching mechanism when a film is to be transferred along the exposure opening.

    • The present invention provides a waterproof camera having a sealed strobe movable between a flashing position and a non-flashing position and a sealed camera body having a larger volume than the strobe. The waterproof camera further comprises a capacitor for storing charge used to flash a strobe unit, a switch fitted in guide ditches on a barrier cover, which is used to detect that the strobe does not lie between the flashing position and the non-flashing position, with a barrier member between them, a capacitor discharge resistor for removing charge from the capacitor according to the output of the switch, a terminal and a connector pin for coupling the strobe with the capacitor so that the strobe and capacitor can be decoupled from each other freely in the camera, and for decoupling the capacitor from the strobe when the strobe moves to a position except those positions between the flashing position and non-flashing position, and a hollow tube for providing an air passage between the camera body and the sealed strobe.

    • Disclosed is a waterproof camera in which a watertightness of an interior of a camera body or a lens tube is maintained during a state where zooming is not performed by a zooming knob defined as a zooming manipulation member. When the lens tube is advanced and retracted by zooming, although the zooming knob is manipulated, a gap serving as an air hole is formed with this manipulation, and the interior of the camera body or the lens tube communicates with the outside air. This prevents such a state that a drive resistance of the lens tube increases. The camera does not require a special filter or the like as provided in the prior art waterproof camera, the filter being disposed in the gap serving as the air hole.
