    • An apparatus for locating an item includes a mesh network communication device, a global positioning satellite chipset, a cellular telecommunications modem, a digital memory that stores a unique identification and a processor. The processor is programmed to determine the location of the item based on an input from the global positioning satellite chipset. If a mesh network connection is available, then processor transmits the unique identification and the location of the item to a requester via the mesh network, otherwise the processor registers with a wireless communication network with the cellular telecommunications modem and transmits the unique identification and the location of the item to a requester via the wireless communication network.

    • A collapsible tanning booth comprises at least two rear lamp units and at least two front lamp units, each of the units having a thin long casing that includes rear, side, top and bottom walls and a front panel, the front panel being of a material transmissive to ultraviolet light, a reflector panel adjacent the rear wall and lamps mounted between the reflector panel and the front panel. The rear lamp units are hinged together along their adjacent side walls so that they can be moved between a storage configuration in which they are substantially aligned transversely and a use configuration in which they are oblique transversely to each other. The laterally outermost front units are hinged along their laterally outermost side walls to the laterally outermost side walls of the rear lamp units so that the front units can be moved between a storage configuration in which they reside face to face against the rear lamp units and a use configuration in which they are disposed oblique to the rear lamp units and to each other. Two adjacent front lamp units, however, are unattached to each other to enable pivotal movement of such units about their hinges apart from each other to provide an opening for access by a person to a space defined by the units in their use configuration.

    • A method and system (28) are provided for dynamically controlling the content of a local receiver data base (24, 26) from a transmitter data base (20) in an information retrieval communication network (28) in which a message transmitter transmitting the transmitter data base (20) dynamically provides data base messages over a message distribution network (22) to local receivers receiving the local receiver data bases (24, 26). The transmitter data base (20) messages are used to incrementally increase and decrease the content of the local receiver data base (24, 26) on a record-by-record basis. In addition, non-data base messages may also be provided. The data base messages consist of displayable data as well as file maintenance messages. Storage templates (42) are retrievably stored at the local receiver data base (24, 26). These storage templates (42) are locally retrieved based on receipt of a unique identifier. Each stored record (40) has a unique associated storage template (42) although a storage template (42) may be corresponding to several different records (40 ). Set identifiers defining multiple field identifiers of information fields and ripple chains, which chains require a change in only one field in the ripple chain to be transmitted, are used by the local receiver data base (24, 26) in conjunction with transmitted update record data base messages (54) to reduce the communications capacity that is required.

A frame separates the primary mesh network communications device from the portable computational device at a distance that enables the user to hold the portable computational device and to direct the mesh network communications device to the entrance of the cargo hold.

    • An apparatus for locating an item at a node includes an item-specific location device disposed in association with the item and that includes a circuit that uniquely identifies the item. A fixed mesh network communication device, in communication with a computer, is in an item storage portion of the node. The computer is programmed to execute the following steps: if an item identification request is received from a requester via a global computer network including a requested item identification, then send an item identification message to the fixed mesh network communication device. If an item identified message is received from the fixed mesh network communication device indicating that the item-specific location device corresponds to the requested item identification, then transmit to the requester, via the global computer network, an item identified notification and a location identification that identifies the node.
