    • An image display system is provided in which an image to be displayed is subdivided into a plurality of images. The plurality of images are displayed on a plurality of display devices. An image is converted to a high definition television signal, and then converted to a plurality of signals compatible with standard television systems. Since the image is subdivided electronically, mismatching between screens is avoided. Further, when the input image to be displayed has an aspect ratio larger or smaller than that of the high definition television system, the displayed image is appropriately shifted, thus eliminating hardware and reducing the system cost.

    • A video image displaying system comprises first video equipment for converting a HDTV video signal to a plurality of video signals of a second format for display on a plurality of television receivers responsive to signals of the second format and second video equipment for providing one or more video signals of the second format to selected television receivers in response to a switching circuit. The image displaying system includes a noise reduction circuit, with coring circuit, in which the characteristics of first and second filters are set in such a way as their overall characteristic becomes flat so as to reduce a noise overlapping a high frequency range of a video signal. The image displaying system further includes a synchronizing signal generator which provides a phase difference between synchronizing signals to be supplied to a first and second video equipments, thus compensating for a delay time of the high definition television signal encountered in an image dividing unit. Preferably, the high definition television signal a Hi-vision signal and the second format television signal is a NTSC television signal.

    • In a display control device according to this invention, video signals are given in parallel each of a plurality of extracting means via a common bus means. For this reason, each extracting means can selectively extract any of the video signals. Each extracting means extracts a portion of or all of required video signals in correspondence to a display area (an area on the display means defined by a display pattern) to be extracted from each of the video signals. The extracted video signals (concretely real luminance signals, interpolated luminance signals, and color signals) are interpolated in horizontal and vertical directions according to a magnification of the display pattern on the display means. This interpolation is an operation to supplement picture elements corresponding to a number of scanning lines and length of the scanning lines which become short when a specified area of the video signal, which is an original signal, is enlarged. The video signals thus interpolated are given to corresponding display units on the display means, respectively. As a result, video signals can be developed at an optional position on the means with an optional size, and in an optional combination.

    • A poker is provided to a packaging machine which has a former for bending a film into a tubular form and a chute for guiding articles to be packaged into a bag being made below. The poker includes a driver link which is driven to undergo a reciprocating rotary motion around a fixed axis and a generally L-shaped arm member disposed above and behind the former. A base part of the arm member is rotatably connected with a moving end part of the driver link such that the arm member can undergo a reciprocating rotary motion around a mobile axis of rotation which rotates around the stationary axis of rotation. A connecting mechanism is further provided to coordinate these two rotational motions such that the tip of the arm member distal from its mobile axis of rotation will move along a desired trajectory to reach a desired bottom center part of the chute which is likely to become clogged with the articles dropped thereinto. The connecting mechanism may be formed with a cam-following member attached to a part of the arm member and a cam plate with an elongated opening such that this cam-following member is constrained to move along an arcuate path determined by this elongated opening.
