摘要： A magnetic recording medium has a magnetic layer formed by a thin magnetic metal layer and a carbon protective layer on a non-magnetic substrate; the surface of the carbon protective layer has first protrusions formed by first particles and second protrusions formed by second particles; the carbon protective film has a thickness in the range of 3 nm to 30 nm, while the first protrusions have the heights of 65 nm.+-.15 nm to 95 nm.+-.15 nm and the second protrusions have the heights of 18 nm.+-.5 nm to 28 nm.+-.5 nm; since the surface properties of the carbon protective film are controlled, the electro-magnetic conversion characteristics may be prevented from being lowered due to the spacing losses for improving the running durability of the recording medium.

摘要： A magnetic recording medium having a thin magnetic metal film formed by vapor deposition under an atmosphere of an introduced oxygen gas. The thickness of the surface oxide film having the degree of oxidation of 50% or higher is maintained so as to be not higher than 5% of the total film thickness of the thin magnetic metal film. The magnetic recording medium is affected to a lesser extent by the surface oxide layer such that it is superior in magnetic properties, such as coercivity, and in electromagnetic properties.

摘要： A sensor apparatus and an information processing apparatus having excellent operability are provided. A sensor apparatus includes a touch panel, a casing, and a pressure-sensitive sensor. The touch panel includes an input operation surface and detects a position at which an operator comes into contact with the input operation surface directly or indirectly. The casing accommodates the touch panel. The pressure-sensitive sensor includes a first electrode fixed to the touch panel, a second electrode fixed to the casing, and an elastic body arranged between the touch panel and the casing and elastically supporting the touch panel with respect to the casing. The pressure-sensitive sensor detects a pressing force input to the input operation surface, as a change of a capacitance between the first and second electrodes.

摘要： A magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus is disclosed wherein reproduced signals read out from a plurality of recording tracks using a reproducing head can be separated into original recording signals of the recording tracks. Upon recording, an identification signal which has a recording wavelength equal to or greater than a minimum recording wavelength and causes no interference of any of the recording tracks with any adjacent one of the recording tracks is appended to and recorded together with a recording signal in order to allow, upon reproduction, acquisition of the position information of the reproducing head with respect to the plural recording tracks of the magnetic recording medium. Upon reproduction, a reproduced signal for each of the recording tracks of the magnetic recording medium is generated on the basis of the positional information read from the recording tracks.
