摘要： A composition, test device and method of determining the presence or concentration of proteins, such as albumin, in a liquid test sample, such as urine. The test device includes a test pad with a carrier matrix incorporating a indicator reagent composition capable of interacting with proteins to produce a detectable response. The indicator reagent composition includes an indicator dye that is capable of interacting with albumin and undergoing a detectable color transition; a buffer; a hydrophobic polymeric compound having the general structural formula: ##STR1## wherein A is ##STR2## and PO is an oxypropylene unit, EO is an oxyethylene unit, y is a number in the range of 0 to about 20, z is a number in the range of 0 to about 20, the sum y+z is a number in the range of about 2 to about 20, and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are selected, independently, from the group consisting of hydrogen, an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, and an aryl group;R.sub.1 is either methylene or oxygen;n is a number in the range of one to about 8; andE is hydrogen or methylol when R.sub.1 is methylene, or E is hydroxy when R.sub.1 is oxygen; and a suitable carrier which is water. The indicator reagent composition provides an improved color resolution in the test samples raving negative protein and trace amount of protein.

摘要： A mounting system is configured to contain and direct power from a photovoltaic cell. The mounting system includes a panel layer connected to at least one photovoltaic cell. A connection layer is joined to the panel layer and further includes a male connection, a female connection, and an electrical connection. The electrical connection is joined to the at least one photovoltaic cell. A support layer is joined to the connection layer forms a housing with the panel layer around the male connection, the female connection and the electrical connection. An electrical assembly is electrically coupled to the photovoltaic cell and the electrical connection and programmed with instructions to receive electrical power from the at least one photovoltaic cell. Then, convert the electrical power from direct current to alternating current. After that, transmit the alternating current to the electrical connection.

摘要： Methods, reagents, kits and systems are disclosed for determining an analyte in a sample suspected of containing the analyte where all reagents are soluble in aqueous solution. One assay method includes treating a sample suspected of containing the analyte under conditions such that if the analyte is present, an activator is brought into reactive configuration with a chemiluminescent compound to activates it. The sample is also treated with an agent to reduce signal not related to analyte. Finally, the sample is treated with a trigger solution thereby producing light from the activated chemiluminescent compound. No reagents are associated with a surface or other solid phase.

摘要： Methods are disclosed for determining an analyte in a medium suspected of containing the analyte. One method comprises treating a medium suspected of containing an analyte under conditions such that the analyte, if present, causes a photosensitizer and a chemiluminescent compound to come into close proximity. The photosensitizer generates singlet oxygen and activates the chemiluminescent compound when it is in close proximity. Non-specific signal generated by singlet oxygen not in proximity is reduced or suppressed using a singlet oxygen quencher (SOQ). The activated chemiluminescent compound subsequently produces light. The amount of light produced is related to the amount of analyte in the medium. Use of Noise Modulation Agents significantly improves signal-to-noise ratios and assay sensitivity. Compositions and kits are also disclosed.

The magnetically attractable particles bind the cellular components in a whole blood sample. Application of a magnetic field gradient to a container with the blood sample and the magnetically attractable particles draws the particles to the surface of the container near the source of the magnetic field gradient. The plasma can be removed and stored or used for monitoring or detecting analytes in the plasma.
