    • A locking mechanism for a shift lever includes a detent member movable along a path, a stopper member movable between a locking position and an unlocking position, and a cam member. A spring member resiliently biases the stopper member toward the locking position. An electromagnetic solenoid has a coil fixed to the cam member and a core fixed to the stopper member. The electromagnetic solenoid permits relative movement between the stopper member and the cam member when the electromagnetic solenoid is unenergized and prevents relative movement between the stopper member and the cam member when the electromagnetic solenoid is energized. The cam member applies a force to the stopper member to move the stopper member toward the unlocking position in response to movement of the detent member when the electromagnetic solenoid is energized.

    • A power closure system with anti-pinch having a closure, a motor operatively connected to the closure, a sensor operatively producing signals indicative of motor speed, an anti-pinch activator coupled to the sensor and the motor, the anti-pinch activator including a predetermined trigger value; a measured value; a stored value; a comparator for comparing the measured value with the stored value and initiating a pinch response when the difference between the measured value and the stored value is greater than the trigger value; and a predetermined modifying calculation for changing the stored value when the measured value indicates a motor speed less than the motor speed indicated by the stored value.

    • A locking mechanism for a shift lever includes a detent member movable along a path, a stopper member movable between a locking position to block movement of the detent member and an unlocking position to permit movement of the detent member, and a cam member carried by the stopper member and pivotable relative to the stopper member. In one embodiment, a spring member resiliently biases the stopper member toward the locking position. An electromagnetic solenoid permits relative movement between the cam member and the stopper member when unenergized and prevents relative movement between the cam member and the stopper member when energized. The cam member applies a force to the stopper member to move the stopper member toward the unlocking position in response to movement of the detent member along the predetermined path when the electromagnetic solenoid is energized.
