    • An interactive video display system is disclosed for communicating with local viewers. The system includes a receiver for receiving a modulated signal carrying related audio and video information. A video and audio control is operatively connected to the receiver for receiving the modulated signal and separating the signal into a video signal and an audio signal. A video display monitor is connected to the control for receiving the video signal and displaying the video information carried by the video signal. A radio transmitter is connected to the control for receiving the audio signal and transmitting a radio frequency signal at a select frequency so that the audio information related to the video information can be received by viewers proximate the video display system. An interactive control is operatively associated with the video and audio control for generating instructions to be displayed, the video and audio control combining the received instructions with the received video information prior to transferring the video signal to the video display monitor.

    • A transesterification process for the production of esters of non-reducing sugars or sugar derivatives comprises reacting the sugars or sugar derivatives with a fatty acid alkyl ester in the absence of a solvent and at an elevated temperature, for example from 120 to 135° C., by microwave radiation. The reaction is conducted in the presence of a potassium derivative soluble in the reaction medium, preferably a soap, and especially a soap of a C12 to C22 unsaturated or saturated fatty acid, for example oleic or stearic acid. The reaction proceeds to completion in relatively short time periods, with the result that the process may be conducted in air without the need for a gas blanket or vacuum, and without oxidation of the reactants or reversal of the reaction.

    • An intra-operating system isolation mechanism called a silo provides for the grouping and isolation of processes running on a single computer using a single instance of the operating system. The operating system enables the controlled sharing of resources by providing a view of a system name space to processes executing within an isolated application called a server silo. A server silo is created by performing a separate “mini-boot” of user-level services within the server silo. The single OS image serving the computer employs the mechanism of name space containment to constrain which server silos can use which resource(s). Restricting access to resources is therefore directly based on the process or application placed in the server silo rather than who is running the application because if a process or application is unable to resolve a name used to access a resource, it will be unable to use the resource.

    • This invention provides a load bearing quick-base that is applied directly to the adjustable-height slot structure of a modular frame upright that is also used ubiquitously to support adjustable-height accessory brackets. By employing a set of upper (or “first”) tabs and a set of spaced-apart, lower (or “second”) tabs, the clamp can be firmly secured to the upright's front, slot-containing face as needed at any desired height in the same manner as a shelf bracket. The clamping system provides a clamp frame adapted to support a load, such as a swing arm support, that depends therefrom. The clamp frame has a first (or “upper”) tab structure with a first tab assembly including a first tab shoulder sized and arranged to engage an interior face of the base member (such as a slotted upright) adjacent to a first slot structure on the base member. There is also provided a movable (or “lower”) tab structure that is pivotally and slidably mounted with respect to the clamp frame. This second movable tab structure includes a second tab assembly having a second tab shoulder sized and arranged to engage an interior face of the base member adjacent to a second slot structure on the base member. The second tab structure is served by a locking member, which can be a spring-loaded, rotating bale, which selectively locks the movable tab structure against movement relative to the frame so as to retain the second tab shoulder and the first tab shoulder in a fixed relationship.

    • A containment mechanism provides for the grouping and isolation of multiple processes running on a single computer using a single instance of the operating system. A system environment is divided into one or more side-by-side and/or nested spaces enabling the partitioning and controlled sharing of resources by creating different views of hierarchical name spaces via virtual hierarchies. A set of declarative rules specifying access capabilities may specify a set of filter drivers to be used to limit access to nodes in the hierarchical name space. The rules may be applied in sequence to construct a new name space from an existing one, or to add to an existing hierarchy. Filter drivers are used to limit access to nodes in the new name space or new portion of the name space. Access to nodes can be limited (read-only access instead of read/write) or nodes can be hidden altogether. Rules may be specified in a declarative language such as XML.

    • Systems and methods are disclosed that facilitate refining a list of candidate driver packages for a detected plug-and-play device. A device can be detected and a hardware ID there for can be determined and compared to hardware IDs in a data store to determine a preliminary list of driver packages that match the hardware device ID. The driver packages can be tagged with additional rich targeting criteria that must be satisfied in order for the driver package to be retained in the candidate list. If additional criteria in the driver packages are not satisfied, then the driver package can be excised from the candidate list to refine driver package compatibility with a computer to which the device is connected.

    • The present invention provides a clutch bleeder tool assembly to force air bubbles from a clutch hydraulic control assembly of a standard vehicle transmission. The clutch bleeder tool assembly includes an adaptor cap to replace the factory cap on the hydraulic fluid reservoir of the clutch assembly. The adaptor cap has a hose attached at one end to the adaptor cap. The other end of the hose is attached to a bulb pump having a check valve. When the bulb pump is operated a positive pressure is maintained in the fluid reservoir. The hydraulically closed clutch hydraulic control assembly is opened at the slave cylinder to allow air bubbles to be forced out, so that proper operation of the clutch hydraulic control assembly is maintained when the hydraulic fluid reservoir is filled and the factory cap is reinstalled.
