    • A combined breech and ammunition drive is provided for a breech of a weapon and/or for introducing ammunition by a feeding star using an external drive, wherein the respective drive is selectively engaged and disengaged. A selector drum that interacts with the drives has slots for the selective engagement and disengagement, and elements are guided in the slots, the slot moving component which engage into the drives in a form-fitted and force-closed manner and which can thereby engage and disengage same. The component being 3-way jaw clutches for example.

    • A breech ammunition drive for the breech of a weapon using an external drive is provided. A long connecting rod converts the rotational movement into a linear breech movement, and a short connecting rod moves the breech. The rear end or pin of the long connecting rod is fixed on or in the drive, and the front end engages onto a rack that is fixed to the weapon and onto a slider of the breech support or the breech via a toothing. The short connecting rod is retained in the slider and guided by same, and the connecting rod engages into a transverse slot introduced above the connecting rod and below the breech support. The short connecting rod is guided in the slot fixed to the weapon, the slot having a rear end point into which the connecting rod is inserted.

    • A breechblock system for a gun includes a breechblock; a firing pin slidably received in the breechblock and having two diametrically oppositely located catch recesses; and two locking levers pivotally supported by the breechblock on opposite sides thereof and each having first and second arms. The two locking levers have a locking position and an unlocking position. In the locking position the first arm of the respective locking levers projects into the respective catch recesses for preventing the firing pin from moving from its locked position into its firing position. Further, two bolts are provided which are movably supported on opposite sides of the breechblock and which cooperate with the breechblock and with respective locking levers. The bolts have a withdrawn position and an advanced position. In the withdrawn position the bolts are out of a depressing engagement with the respective locking levers, whereby the locking levers are maintained in the locking position by a force-exerting arrangement. In the advanced position the bolts depress the respective locking levers, whereby the locking levers are maintained in the unlocking position in which the second arms of the respective locking levers are spaced from the catch recesses.

    • A method and arrangement for the vacuum coating of workpieces by arc evaporation, comprises at least one evaporating cathode with a surface to be evaporated, an axis of the cathode intersecting the cathode surface. Workpieces to be coated are arranged around the axis at locations which are spaced radially outwardly and at an axial distance from the cathode surface. In order to prevent direct line of sight communication between the cathode surface and the workpieces, a visual shield is positioned between the cathode surface and the workpieces, which at least partly surrounds the axis. In this way, the ions which are evaporated from the cathode surface are deflected outwardly around the visual shield and toward the workpieces.
