    • A camera mechanism for cocking the camera shutter and metering the advancement of film is adapted to prevent metering prior to cocking of the shutter. The mechanism comprises a sensing pawl on a sensing slide which drops into a film perforation just prior to complete advancement of the film by a full frame and a metering pawl on a metering lever which moves to prevent further advancement of the film in response to movement of the sensing slide to a metering postion. Such movement of the sensing slide and consequent metering is prevented by interaction of the metering lever with the shutter high energy lever. Movement of the high energy lever to its cocked position frees the metering lever from engagement with the high energy lever and permits metering upon advancement of a film perforation into a position in which it engages the sensing pawl and moves the sensing slide to its metering position.

    • A camera for perforated roll film includes transport means for advancing the film along an exposure plane, a metering lever biased toward an active position to disable the transport means, and a film sensing member for detecting the arrival of a perforation at a predetermined position to permit movement of the metering lever to its active position. Means associated with the sensing pawl and the metering lever hold the sensing pawl in the perforation until metering is effected and thereupon permits movement of the sensing pawl out of the perforation.

    • A camera having a cavity for receiving a battery holder of the type having an elongated dimension, an end wall generally normal to the elongated dimension of the holder, and a slot in the end wall. The camera cavity has an elongated shape longer than the elongated dimension of the battery holder and an opening at one end through which a battery holder may be inserted and removed. A rib on the camera adjacent the opening enters the groove of a received battery holder and a spring in the other end of the cavity resiliently urges the battery holder toward the rib to secure the holder in the cavity.
