    • This invention is directed to an aerosol container system with two separate chambers, each of which contains a component to be mixed with the other component just prior to use. The container system comprises:(a) a vertical arrangement of (i) a substantially unpressurized upper chamber for receiving a first component and (ii) a lower chamber for receiving a second component together with an amount of propellant sufficient for the expulsion of both components from the container system to said upper chamber being capable of receiving approximately the entire contents of the lower chamber upon activation;(b) a connecting channel between the upper and lower chambers which comprises a mother-daughter valve assembly consisting of a bottom valve of the upper chamber as well as a top valve of the lower chamber, the valve assembly being positioned so that it is activated by mechanical movement of the upper and lower chambers against each other to permit the component and propellant in the lower chamber to be released into the upper chamber; and(c) a dispensing valve of the upper chamber, which is operated independently to dispense a mixture of the two components, as well as an improvement wherein the lower chamber has a nonadhering bag lining with an integral sealing ring.

    • A dispensing package system for a liquid product including first and second components which must be mixed together prior to use, includes a first container for containing the first component, and a second container for containing the second component prior to use. The first container includes a top dispensing nozzle sealed off by a cap when not in use, and a bottom port sealed by a removable plug from the interior thereof. To mix the components together a user unscrews a cap from the second container, and screws the neck of the second container into a threaded boss of a skirt secured to the bottom of the first container, for forcing a top portion of the neck of the second container into the bottom port of the first container for frictional engagement therewith, and for forcing the plug out of the port into the interior of the first container. The second container is held in position by the skirt, and the joined first and second containers can now be shaken for mixing the first and second components together, and thereafter dispensing the resultant liquid product from the dispensing nozzle of the first container.

More particularly, this invention is directed to a dispensing container comprising a container body provided at one end with a resiliently compressible portion including a mouthpiece; a storage chamber to hold material to be dispensed; piston member arranged at the other end of said container to define a boundary of the storage chamber, the piston member being movable towards and restrained from movement away from said compressible portion; a top surface to define another boundary of the storage chamber; and an elastically compressible pump having an inlet valve in the top surface, an outlet valve, and a pump chamber between the valves, said inlet valve comprising an annular slot extending circularly in the top surface symmetrically to the longitudinal axis of the container and a circular cover ring hold sealingly in front of the annular slot and elastically under constant stress, the cover ring being held by three or more spokes radiating from a hub positioned in the center of the top surface.
