    • A wireless network encoding management method and device. The method includes: determining whether a network infrastructure allows inter-network wireless network encoding; if the inter-network wireless network encoding is allowed, selecting, from neighboring networks of the network infrastructure, a node capable of forming an inter-network wireless network encoding group; and forming the inter-network wireless network encoding group and performing a scheduling design. Therefore, network encoding management in heterogeneous networks can be implemented, and the system capacity of the network and an effective data rate can be increased.

    • Reference pictures received via a video signal are downscaled to a specified resolution by a video encoder/decoder. For each current picture being processed by the video encoder/decoder, the current picture is maintained at its original received resolution, but is divided into blocks. Each block is further divided into sub-blocks, and each sub-block is compared, for a set of specified positions, to a corresponding block of the downscaled reference image to generate a set of candidate motion vectors. The candidate motion vectors are scored according to how closely their corresponding sub-block matches the corresponding block of the reference picture at the corresponding position, and a motion vector for each block of the current image is selected based on the scores. The selected motion vectors are used to process (e.g. encode) the video signal.

    • Examples are given for generating or providing a moving read reference (MRR) table for recovering from a read error of non-volatile memory included in a storage device. In some examples, priorities may be adaptively assigned to entries included in the MRR table. The entries may be ordered for use based on the assigned priorities. In other examples, the MRR table may be ordered for use such that entries with a single MRR value for each read reference value may be used first over entries having multiple MRR values for each read reference value. For these other examples, the MRR table may be adaptively reordered based on which entries were successful or unsuccessful in recovering from a read error but may still be arranged to have single MRR value entries used first for use to recover from another read error.
