摘要： A container (10) for stacking and bundling newspaper (P) or the like includes a rear wall (13) and side walls (11, 12) defining an open front around which is a rim (14). The rear wall (13) and the side walls (11, 12) extend upwardly from a bottom surface (31) and are provided with windows (26, 27, 28) therein. Front pedestals (29, 30) and rear pedestals (32, 33) are positioned at the front and rear of the side walls (11, 12) and have inclined upper newspaper supporting surfaces (34, 35, 36, 37) all lying in the same plane. The bottom surfaces (31) is provided with raised stop surfaces (39, 40, 41) and inclined ramp surfaces (43, 44, 45, 46) to locate a ball of twine used to bundle the newspaper (P). The twine may be tied to rear wall (13) through window (28) and draped from back to front along bottom surface (31) and may also be tied to one side wall (11, 12) through window 26) or window (27) and draped from side to side along bottom surfaces (31) so that newspaper (P) resting on the pedestals (29, 30, 32, 33) may be readily bundled. A bag (B) may also be positioned on the pedestals (29, 30, 32, 33) such that its open mouth extends generally upwardly through the open front of the container (10) to receive the newspapers (P).

摘要： A laundry basket is disclosed, comprising four sides (4) and a bottom (5) which define an internal chamber (8). A handle opening (10) is formed in at least one of the sidewalls, proximate an upper rim (6). A handle body (12) spans the opening (10), along the rim (6). A gripping member (14) attaches to an underside of the handle body by overlapping flanges (18, 28). The gripping member (14) is upwardly concave, of relatively larger radius of curvature than the downwardly concave handle body (12). Together, the gripping member and handle body comprise a cylindrical handle assembly. The gripping member (14) is formed to provide spaced apart gripping ribs (26). Gripping ribs (26) are co-extruded with the gripping member (14), but are formed of relatively softer plastic material. Reinforcement walls (22) extend downward from the handle body (12) into the gripping member (14) and abut thereagainst for reinforcement.

摘要： A wastebasket (10) includes a base portion (11) with an open upper end and a cover (12) pivotally attached thereto. A lever (27) is pivotally attached to the base portion (11) and carries a link arm (30) near one end thereof so that pivoting the lever (27) moves the link arm (30) upwardly and downwardly. A pin member (35) is carried by the upper end of the link arm (30) and is received in a track (39) carried by the cover (12) through an access opening (40) positioned above the pin member (35) when the cover (12) is closed on the base portion (11). The pivotal movement of the cover (12) is limited by a handle (50) which extends rearwardly from the base portion (11) to a further extent than the cover (12) when it is fully open thus preventing the cover (12) from contacting any surface which might be adjacent to the handle (50). When used with a plastic liner (53), the liner (53) may be draped over the upper open edge of the base portion (11). Fins (54) carried by the cover (12) travel in trackways (18) located at the upper edge of base portion (11) during the pivotal movement of the cover (12) to push the liner (53) away from the track (39) and pin member (35) so that the liner (53) does not interfere with the operation thereof.
