摘要： A torsional fork transducer wherein the two lines of the fork are interconnected at their feet by a piezoelectric crystal operating in the longitudinal mode, the crystal being energized at a rate determined by the natural frequency of the fork to effect torsional vibration of the tines. Oscillators derived from a pick-up electrode on the crystal are applied to the input of an electronic amplifier whose output is fed to a drive electrode on the crystal to sustain the fork in vibration.

摘要： An optical switching mechanism including a vibrator having a pair of parallel reeds which are sustained in vibration at a rate determined by the resonance characteristic of the vibrator, the free ends of the reeds being ganged together by a headpiece. The arrangement is such that as the reeds sway simultaneously from side to side, the headpiece is caused to undergo a translating movement substantially free of an arcuate component. Mounted on the headpiece is a triangular reflecting element whose apex, in the static state of the vibrator, is aligned with a beam of incident radiant energy, whereby as the element, in the dynamic state, shifts to either side of the beam, the beam is deflected by the angled faces of the element in alternate directions.

摘要： A resonant torsional oscillator adapted to serve as an optical chopper or to provide other useful functions which require a vibratory action at a high amplitude and a constant rate. The oscillator is constituted by an erect torsional rod whose base is anchored, an optical element being attached to the free end of the rod. The rod is sustained in torsional vibration by means of an electromagnetically driven armature secured to the rod, the point of attachment being adjacent the base whereby the torsional swing at the free end of the rod is amplified with respect to that at said point.

摘要： A tuning fork oscillator having a pair of tines which are sustained in vibration by an electronic drive system subject to change whereby the amplitude of fork vibration tends also to change. The amplitude is physically stabilized by mechanical stops having damping elements which are disposed to prevent the fork excursion from exceeding a preset limit, the fork being electronically driven by the system to normally exceed said limit whereby the fork amplitude neither falls below nor goes above the preset limit.

An incoming beam of light or other form of radiant energy is directed toward the first mirror which reflects it onto the second mirror, the second mirror directing the beam onto a fixed third mirror. The third mirror acts to duplex the beam by directing it back to the second mirror, which returns the beam to the first mirror, whose reflection produces an exit beam having a high angular velocity.
