    • A combination of an engine, a gearbox clutch housing and a mounting system for mounting the combination to the structural load-bearing components of a vehicle, comprising an engine having a first contact surface; a gearbox clutch housing having a second contact surface, the first contact surface of the engine and the second contact surface of the gearbox clutch housing each being joined to the other by mechanical fastening means; and a first hanger, where the latter comprises a rigid plate positioned between the first contact surface of the engine and the second contact surface of the gearbox clutch housing, with the first hanger being securely fastened between the engine and the gearbox clutch housing. The first hanger has first and second opposed load-transferring surfaces of closed perimeter, with the first of the load-transferring surfaces being in pressing contact with the first contact surface of the engine and the second of the load-transferring surfaces being in pressing contact with the second contact surface of the gearbox clutch housing. The first hanger includes one or more load-supporting members extending beyond the perimeter of the opposed load-transferring surfaces; and the one or more load-supporting members include plural spaced-apart fastening elements adapted for coupling to one or more select structural load-bearing components of a vehicle.

    • A wheel alignment mechanism having a control arm connector, which is adapted for connection to a vehicle suspension control arm positioned between a vehicle chassis and a vehicle wheel, and which has an elongate portion; an inner support frame having a first surface and a second surface on a side of the inner support frame opposing the first surface, the elongate portion of the control arm connector positioned against the first surface at a select one of a first set of plural mounting locations on the first surface, with the first set of plural mounting locations being disposed in a first direction; and an outer support frame adapted to receive a wheel mounting, the connector having a third surface, the second surface of the inner support frame being positioned against the third surface at a select one of a second set of plural mounting locations on the third surface, and with the second set of plural mounting locations being disposed in a second direction approximately perpendicular to the first direction. Means are provided for securing the control arm connector to the inner support frame and the inner support frame to the outer support frame.

    • An inline gearbox for a land vehicle that includes an engine having a clutch housing for the transmission of rotational force from the engine to one or more wheels for propelling the land vehicle, wherein the inline gearbox includes a gearbox housing having a front end, a side and a rear end, with the front end adapted to be joined to the clutch housing. There is an input shaft contained at least in part within the gearbox housing proximate to the front end of the gearbox housing, and a primary gear train that includes (a) a lay shaft; (b) a drive shaft; and (c) a plurality of selectively engaged meshed gear pairs respectively mounted on the lay shaft and the drive shaft for transmitting rotational force from the lay shaft to the drive shaft. The inline gearbox also includes an output shaft contained at least in part within the gearbox housing proximate to the rear end of the gearbox housing, with the output shaft rotationally coupled to the drive shaft. The inline gearbox features a fast-change gear assembly contained within the gearbox housing, where the fast-change gear assembly is positioned proximate the front end of the gearbox housing and interposed between the input shaft and the lay shaft, with the fast-change gear assembly comprising a first fast-change gear and a second fast-change gear meshing with the first fast-change gear, and with the first fast-change gear and the second fast-change gear each having an axis generally parallel to the axis of the input shaft. The first fast-change gear is rotationally coupled to the input shaft so as to rotate with the rotation of the input shaft, and translationally uncoupled to the input shaft to permit removal of the first fast-change gear from the gearbox housing; and the second fast-change gear is rotationally coupled to the lay shaft so as to rotate the lay shaft upon rotation of the second fast-change gear, and translationally uncoupled to the lay shaft to permit removal of the second fast-change gear from the gearbox housing.

    • An exhaust manifold for an internal combustion piston engine with a row of at least two cylinders inclined from the vertical. The exhaust manifold has plural exhaust stack assemblies and a manifold plenum with an outlet. Each of the plural exhaust stack assemblies comprises a leader pipe and an exhaust connector, with a first end of each leader pipe being joined to a first end of the exhaust connector of the exhaust stack assembly, and a second end of each exhaust connector being joined to the manifold plenum. Each leader pipe is joined to a manifold flange that is adapted for joining to the internal combustion engine to receive exhaust gases from the cylinders of the engine. Each leader pipe is joined in a vertical plane to the manifold flange at a first angle so that the plural exhaust stack assemblies are approximately horizontally oriented when joined to the internal combustion engine, and each leader pipe is joined in a horizontal plane to the manifold flange at a second angle inclined toward the outlet.
