    • A handheld work apparatus such as a bed redefiner or edger has a handle for guiding the work apparatus over the ground. The apparatus also includes a drive motor which drives a tool in rotation. During operation, the apparatus is moved over the ground by the operator in a direction of movement. The tool is covered at least partially by a protective hood and a sliding skid is arranged on that end of the protective hood located at the front in the direction of movement. The sliding skid has an abutment surface for a flexible spray guard fixed to the protective hood. The spray guard is fastened to the protective hood in its fastening region located at the front viewed in the direction of movement. The spray guard is movable in its protective region located at the rear viewed in the direction of movement.

    • A work apparatus has a drive motor for driving a work tool and has a control unit for the drive motor. The operating device includes an actuating element actuated by a user. The actuating element is mounted in a movable manner in a housing and can be adjusted in an actuating direction between a zero position and a maximum position. An intermediate stop acts between the zero position and the maximum position. The position of the intermediate stop is settable via a setting element. After the intermediate stop has been reached, the actuating element can be actuated further as far as the maximum position. The operating force (F) for further actuating the actuating element increases when the intermediate stop is reached. Provision is made for the operating force (F) to drop again upon further actuation of the actuating element after the intermediate stop has been overcome.

    • The invention relates to a multi-part cut guard for a tool that is rotatable in a cutting plane. The cut guard includes a first part element and at least one further part element. The part elements are connected together at their ends and form a closed circumference. Opposing first ends of the part elements are connected together, forming a pivot joint. The second ends of the part elements are fixed releasably together. The pivot joint is formed from a latching receptacle and a latching stub which form the pivot joint in the latched state and are intended to be separated in order to release the latching.

The fastening plans separates a first region of the furrow cutter from a second region of the furrow cutter. The transmission is arranged in the first region. The blade has at least one arm projecting from the fastening region and having a free end. The arm has a first segment which extends out of the fastening plane into the second region. A simple structure, a good cutting result and a high service life are achieved when the arm has a second segment in which the arm extends back in the direction of the fastening plane.
