    • There is provided an insert nut, having an outer hollow portion made of a resin material and an inner hollow portion made of a metal material. The outer hollow portion has a projection functioning as a male screw or wedge formed on an outer surface thereof. The inner hollow portion has a female screw formed on an inner surface thereof. The inner hollow portion is press-fitted to the outer hollow portion by inserting one end of the inner hollow portion into the outer hollow portion to reach a final position. Further insertion of the inner hollow portion is prevented beyond the final position. Said one end of the inner hollow portion is caulked with the outer hollow portion.

    • A metallic fastening member of a one piece configuration formed of a metal material includes a shaft and a flange extending outwards from a first end of the shaft. The shaft includes a relatively thin-walled portion to be caulked at a second end opposite to the first end. A female threading is formed at an inner peripheral face of the shaft excluding the portion to be caulked. An annular groove is formed at an outer peripheral face of the shaft or at the inner peripheral face of the portion to be caulked, so that the shaft has a partially thin wall. Since the wall of the shaft is thinner at the annular groove, the metallic fastening member can be fractured at that area so as to be separated into upper and lower pieces when detaching the metallic fastening member from a workpiece. Therefore, the metallic fastening member can be readily removed from the workpiece to facilitate the recovery work for recycling purposes.

    • In a method of working a metal member, a liquid synthetic detergent mainly composed of a surface-active agent is supplied to a metal plate as a lubricant in a press working step of holding the metal plate between a male die and a female die and press-forming the same. According to this working method, press working of a stainless steel plate or the like can be smoothly performed due to excellent lubricity of the surface-active agent contained as the main component in the liquid synthetic detergent. When a lubricant prepared from a liquid synthetic detergent containing a rust preventive is applied to lubrication of a carbon steel plate or the like, excellent workability can be attained without rusting, due to the action of the rust preventive, and with no contamination by oil.

    • In order to manufacturer a tee nut by plastic working steps, a swollen portion is formed on a metal plate, a through hole is formed in the forward end surface of this swollen portion, and then the outer diameter and therewith the wall thickness of a forward end portion of the swollen portion is relatively reduced as compared to a base portion of the swollen portion. Then, the outer and inner diameters of the base portion are reduced while substantially maintaining its wall thickness. Thus, the forward end portion defines a relatively thin portion to be caulked, and the base portion defines a relatively thick female screw forming portion of the tee nut. Thus, it is possible to form a tee nut having a shaft with a uniform outer diameter and having a relatively thin forward end portion forming the portion to be caulked while the tee nut is held by the metal plate.

    • A tee nut is integrally made of a metallic material to have a shaft portion and a flange portion, the latter having two pairs of pawls projecting in the direction in which the shaft portion extends. The pawls are disposed radially of the flange portion. The peripheral edge of the flange portion is formed with projections at position diametrically opposed to each other and at right angles with the radial direction in which the two pairs of pawls are opposed to each other. The projections extend in the same direction as that in which the pawls extend namely toward the free end of the shaft-portion. The clearances in guide rails of C-shaped cross-section constituting a feed track, are substantially decreased in size by the presence of the pointer projections producing a decreased frictional resistance between the track and nuts travelling on the track overlapping of the flange portions due to the rise of the flange portions in the guide rails is prevented, thus ensuring a smooth movement of the tee nut along the feed track.
