    • The present invention discloses a mono-component developing device comprising a rotatable drive roller which confronts a rotatable photoreceptor, a flexible member arranged on the exterior surface of the drive roller and having a peripheral length greater than a peripheral length of the drive roller, an elastic pad provided on the side opposed to the side confronting the photoreceptor of the drive roller, and an elastic plate arranged at both ends of the flexible member in an axial length thereof. In the developing device having the above construction the flexible member onto which a toner is supplied is pressed toward the photoreceptor by the elastic pad while being pressed by the elastic plate in the axial direction of the flexible member, so that the flexible member contacts with the surface of the photoreceptor on the side confronting the photoreceptor of the drive roller to supply the toner to an electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor surface.

    • A paper feeder for feeding a large supply of paper to a recording apparatus such as a copying machine. The recording apparatus has a main body with a driving apparatus therein, an automatic feed mechanism therein including paper storage cassettes and an automatic feed for feeding recording paper from the cassettes, and a manual feed for feeding into the apparatus recording paper manually inserted thereinto. The paper feeder has a recording paper accommodating unit for accommodating a larger number of sheets of recording paper than the cassettes, the unit having a sheet feeder for feeding the recording paper out of the unit, and releasable engaging hooks for removably attaching the unit to the main body with the feed positioned in a position opposed to said manual feed of the apparatus for delivering sheets of recording paper to the manual feed. The apparatus drive is connected to the sheet feeder when the unit is attached to the main body, whereby when the unit is attached to the main body with a multiplicity of sheets of recording paper accommodated therein, the sheets can be fed to the interior of the apparatus through the manual feed.

    • An apparatus for discharging sheets of paper from a copying machine, printing machine, or the like. The apparatus has a plurality of spaced parallel belt supporting rollers with a belt member reeved around them and having at least one run extending from a first to a second one of the belt supporting rollers. The belt member is positioned to receive sheets on the outer peripheral surface at the end of the run adjacent the first belt supporting roller. An offset roller is positioned in rolling contact with the outer peripheral surface of the belt member at a position downstream of the first belt supporting roller and a solenoid or spring device is connected to the offset roller for changing the position of the offset roller between a position in which the axis of rotation thereof is parallel to the axis of rotation of the belt supporting rollers and a position in which the axis of rotation thereof is skew to the axis of rotation of the belt supporting rollers. A guide is positioned just downstream of the offset roller for guiding sheets of paper away from the belt member.
