    • An image processing apparatus includes a detector, a setting unit, and an image generator. The detector detects a target object image region from a first image. When one or more predetermined parameters are applicable to a target object within the region detected by the detector, the setting unit sets the relevant target object image region as a first region. The image generator then generates a second image by applying predetermined processing to either the image portion within the first region, or to the image portions in a second region containing image portions within the first image that are not contained in the first region.

    • An image processing apparatus for correcting an input image for blur using a recovery filter in accordance with image blurriness includes a blurriness determining unit that receives a target image to be corrected, applies to the target image a recovery filter including a degree-of-blur parameter corresponding to blurriness while changing a value of the degree-of-blur parameter, evaluates a degree of recovery of each of corrected target images which have been corrected with recovery filters having different degree-of-blur parameter values, and determines blurriness of the target image based on the degree-of-blur parameter value of the highly evaluated recovery filter; and a blur correction unit that sets a recovery filter for the target image based on the degree-of-blur parameter in accordance with the determined blurriness of the target image and corrects the target image for blur using the recovery filter.

    • A method for controlling the operation of a cooled or heated water pump of an air conditioning installation is provided in which the flow rate of cooled or heated water is controlled to correspond to variations of energy demand on a load side unit. This can be effected by controlling on the basis of the temperature of the cooled or heated water the state of operation of a heat source, and the number of revolutions of the motor for driving the pump. When the temperature of the cooled or heated water is within a predetermined range of temperature and the operation of the heat source is halted, the motor is operated to rotate a number of revolutions N2 determined by a unit for controlling the rotation of the motor based on conditions obtained at a time of halting the operation of the heat source, until the temperature of the cooled or heated water reaches a predetermined value.

    • A representative point for pixel value adjustment at which the same pixel value is to be set is selected from each of a correction image to be corrected and a reference image of a mosaic image. A tone curve that defines an output pixel value with respect to an input pixel value is generated by a line that passes through a pixel-value-conversion coordinate point defined by pixel values indicating the representative points selected from the correction image and the reference image, which are set as input and output values. This line is generated by a spline curve. The pixel value of the correction image is converted based on the generated tone curve.
