    • A door locking system for a vehicle includes a striker, a latch, a pawl allowing and regulating the latch to rotate, a lock release operating portion moving the pawl to release the regulation on the latch rotation, a latch driving motor driven in one direction to shift the door to a fully closed state from a half-closed state, the latch driving motor driven in the other direction to move the pawl to be release position when the lock release operating portion is operated, and a power transmission system switching mechanism connecting a motor output shaft of the motor to the latch for driving the latch in the locking direction, the power transmission system switching mechanism connecting the motor output shaft of the motor to the pawl for moving the pawl to the release position and including a first canceling mechanism for switching a power state.

    • An electric door latch apparatus includes a manual operation portion adapted to be mounted on a vehicle door and configured to be switched between a closed door retaining state in which the vehicle door is retained at a closed position and a door openable state in which the vehicle door is openable by an electric actuation, the manual operation portion being switched from the closed door retaining state to the door openable state by a manual operation in an electrically inoperable condition, and the manual operation portion positioned within the vehicle door and including a tool fitting hole on a surface thereof facing a vehicle compartment side wall portion of the vehicle door. The manual operation portion is configured to be rotated by fitting a predetermined tool into the tool fitting hole via an operation hole formed penetrating through the vehicle compartment side wall portion of the vehicle door.

    • A vehicle door locking assembly includes a housing, a latch member and a pawl member provided in the housing for holding a vehicle door in a closed position, a manually actuatable door opening member provided on the housing for rotational movement, and a rotatably mounted lift lever which is operatively connected with the latch member. A release lever is mounted on the door opening member for rotational movement between a first position in which the release lever engages the lift lever so that rotational movement of the door opening member is transmitted through the release lever and the lift lever to the pawl member to release the door and a second position in which the release lever cannot engage the lift lever so that rotational movement of the door opening member is not transmitted to the lift lever. A locking lever is mounted for rotational movement on the housing between a locking position and an unlocking position, and is operatively connected with the release lever so that when the locking lever is moved to the locking position the release lever is moved to the second position in which the release lever cannot be engaged with the lift lever and so that when the locking lever is moved to the unlocking position the release lever is moved to the first position in which the release lever can be engaged with the lift lever upon operation of the door opening member.
