    • The present invention relates to a light source apparatus that has a base structure capable of generating SC light and further having a structure that enables the shaping of the spectral waveform of the SC light, power adjustment of the SC light, or adjustment of the frequency of repetition of the pulse train that contains the SC light. For example, a light source apparatus that enables shaping of spectral waveforms comprises a seed light source that emits seed light which is a pulse train or continuous light; an optical fiber that generates SC light from the seed light, and spectrum shaping means for completely or partially changing the spectral waveform of the SC light. The shaping of the spectral waveform changes the maximum power of the seed light by changing the optical coupling efficiency of the seed light source and optical fiber, for example, thereby suitably deforms the spectrum of the SC light.

    • An optical transmission module has a light-emitting element, a light-receiving element, and an optical path for optically coupling the light-emitting element and the light-receiving element, and transmitting a optical signal. The optical path has a core part, a clad part surrounding the core part, and a support board for supporting the optical path itself and the light-receiving element. A resin part formed of resin having a refractive index higher than air outside the optical path is arranged at a part of a surface area of the clad part along an optical transmission direction to which optical signals are transmitted. The resin part has an inclined surface in which the surface on the opposite side of the clad part is tilted relative to the optical transmission direction. The inclined surface forms an acute angle with the surface of the clad part at the opposite side of the light-receiving element in the resin part.

    • A broadband light source device that can generate supercontinuum light in a visible range and having a spectrum with a stable shape and high intensity is provided. The broadband light source device includes a diode-pumped solid-state laser light source that outputs seed light in response to being excited by a laser beam output from a semiconductor laser light source; a wavelength converter that receives the seed light to generate wavelength-converted light having a wavelength different from that of the seed light, and outputs the wavelength-converted light; and a nonlinear medium that receives the wavelength-converted light to generate supercontinuum light having a bandwidth of 100 nm or greater included in a wave band of 400 nm to 700 nm inclusive, and outputs the supercontinuum light.

    • Provided is a wavelength converter capable of generating a converted signal having a wavelength different from the wavelength of input light. The wavelength converter of the present invention comprises: (1) a pump light source for outputting pump light; (2) a light multiplexing part for multiplexing the input light and the pump light and outputting thus multiplexed light; (3) and a plurality of optical fibers connected together in cascade, allowing the passage of the input light and the pump light thus multiplexed and output thereinto by the light multiplexing part, having mutually different zero dispersion wavelengths, and being capable of generating a converted signal by the nonlinear optical phenomenon occurring during the passage of the input light and the pump light. The wavelength conversion efficiency of the sidebands is less than −20 dB relative to the maximum value of the wavelength conversion efficiency in the entirety of the plurality of optical fibers.
