    • A roots type fluid machine includes a case having a side wall, a pair of rotary shafts provided in the case, a pair of rotors engaged with each other and fixed to the pair of rotary shafts so as to extend axially, respectively, a suction space formed by the case and the pair of rotors for introducing fluid, a discharge space formed by the case for discharging fluid and the pair of rotors and a transfer chamber formed by the case and the rotor. The transfer chamber transfers gas introduced in the suction space to the discharge space in accordance with the rotation of the pair of rotors. The case has a guide groove formed in the side wall facing the rotor end surface. Gas leaked from the discharge space into the clearance is introduced to the transfer chamber through the guide groove.

    • The present invention provides a method for image formation, that can yield thermally transferred images which are excellent in various fastness properties even under severe service conditions, and an intermediate transfer recording medium for use in the method for image formation. The method for image formation comprises the steps of: providing an intermediate transfer recording medium comprising a substrate film and a transfer portion provided separably on the substrate film; forming an image on the intermediate transfer recording medium in its transfer portion; transferring the transfer portion onto an object; and, thereafter, again transferring the intermediate transfer recording medium in its next transfer portion once or more onto the object with the image formed thereon. In this case, in the intermediate transfer recording medium, a hologram image is set every at least second image plane, and an image can be formed on the transfer portion having the hologram image. This can offer an advantage that the transfer portion, with a thermally transferable image formed thereon, can be transferred onto an object followed by the superimposition of a transfer portion, to be served as the outermost surface in the final form onto the transferred portion once or more to provide a strong film for protecting the thermally transferred image. Thus, the problems of the prior art could have been solved.

    • An intermediate transfer recording medium is such one wherein a transferable layer is peelably provided on a substrate, an image is formed on a receptor layer partially constituting the transferable layer by thermal transfer, and then the transferable layer is retransferred onto a transfer-receiving material. In the intermediate transfer recording medium of a first aspect, the peeling strength “a” of the image formed region and the peeling strength “b” of the image non-formed region, the regions being included in the transferable portion after the image is thermally transferred on the receptor layer, satisfies the following inequality (1): |a−b|≦b/2.
