    • A print control apparatus may include a determination unit and a print data generation unit to process variable data. The determination unit determines an imposition method used for defining layout of the variable data including a plurality of pages where stationary content used for a plurality of records and variable content that differs for each record are arranged on one physical page. The print data generation unit generates print data used for arranging the layout of the plurality pages and performs printing. The print data generation unit acquires information for identifying a physical page on which each page of each record included in the variable data is printed based on the variable data and the imposition method determined by the determination unit and generates the print data including the acquired information used for identifying the physical page on which each page of each record is printed.

    • Even through security information is embedded in a printed document, if the security level is changed after original data is printed, it is impossible to change the security level of a printed document. Hence, when vector data is generated from the printed document, vector data with a low security level is obtained, and that vector data can be edited and printed. Hence, a document image is read, the read image is segmented into image regions of different attributes, and pointer information embedded in each image region is extracted. An image of the image region from which no pointer information is extracted and whose vector conversion is instructed by the user is converted into vector data. A security level is set in the vector data, and the vector data set with the security level is registered in a server.

    • An image processing apparatus includes an image input unit which inputs an image, and an image thinner for taking the OR of (m dots in the vertical direction).times.(n dots in the horizontal direction) of the input image, thereby thinning out the (m.times.n) pixels and newly forming one pixel. A labeler adds labels to black pixels of every line of the thinned out image. The same label is added to pixels which are continuous in the vertical, horizontal or oblique direction and simultaneously traces a rectangle. The area of the input image is divided based on the result of the detection of the separator detector.
