    • A touch panel which is constituted by using an adhesive layer having a thickness which is 70% or more of a thickness of an approximately picture-frame-like spacer which allows respective outer peripheries of an upper substrate and a lower substrate to adhere to each other is provided. Due to such a constitution, when the touch panel is used under high temperature or in an environment where the temperature difference is severely large so that the thermal expansion or shrinkage is generated on upper substrate or lower substrate, these thermal expansion and shrinkage can be absorbed by the thick and soft adhesive layer. As a result, it is possible to suppress the peeling-off of upper and lower substrates thus realizing a surely manipulable touch panel.

The compensating plate having substantially an identical heat shrinkage ratio with that of the first substrate is laminated on a side, which is opposite to the first substrate, at the polarizing plate.

    • In a plastic identifying apparatus (1), a reference light (L1) and a detecting light (L2), each having a predetermined wavelength, are irradiated to an object to be identified (4), and the transmitted lights of the reference light (L1) and detecting light (L2) are received.     • A touch panel is equipped with a light-transmissive upper substrate, a light-transmissive lower substrate, a polarizing plate bonded onto a top surface of the upper substrate, and a light-transmissive adhesive layer containing acid acceptors. A lower surface of the upper substrate is formed thereon with an upper conductive layer, and a top surface of the lower substrate is formed thereon with a lower conductive layer facing the upper conductive layer, with a certain air gap provided. The polarizing plate has a polarizer and a triacetylcellulose film bonded onto both surfaces of the polarizer. The adhesive layer bonds at least one of the polarizer with the triacetylcellulose film and the upper substrate with the polarizing plate. This makeup provides the touch panel with favorable visibility and easy operability.

    • The touch panel of the invention includes an optically transparent upper substrate having an upper conductive layer formed on an undersurface thereof, an optically transparent lower substrate having a lower conductive layer formed on an upper surface thereof and facing the upper conductive layer with a predetermined space, a spacer in a frame shape disposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate, and a polarizing plate adhered to an upper surface of the upper substrate, in which the polarizing plate is adhered to the upper surface of the upper substrate within the outer periphery of the spacer. Because the polarizing plate is attached to the upper surface of the upper substrate but within an outer periphery of the spacer, even when the panel is exposed to a high temperature and high humidity environment, the substrate is prevented from being peeled off the spacer and a loose fitness of wiring substrate is avoided, thus a touch panel of an easy operation and a secure electrical connection is obtained.
