    • A light emission control device includes a partial region feature quantity detector, an enlarged region feature quantity detector, a whole screen feature quantity detector, and a light emission controller. The partial region feature quantity detector detects a feature quantity of the image as a partial region feature quantity. The enlarged region feature quantity detector defines the partial region of interest and the partial regions neighboring the partial region of interest, and detects a feature quantity of the image of the enlarged region. The whole screen feature quantity detector detects this feature quantity as a whole screen feature quantity. On the basis of the partial region feature quantity and the enlarged region feature quantity pertaining to the partial region of interest, and the whole screen feature quantity, the light emission controller controls the light emission luminance of the light emission unit corresponding to the partial region of interest.

    • A compound operation input device of the invention includes: a body; a switch being disposed in the body and including a contact in an arcuate cross-sectional shape; and a lever. The lever includes: a basal portion disposed on a vertex of the contact; and an operating portion being swingable in swing directions and being depressible toward the switch from a predetermined position on a swing path. The body includes an arcuate abutting portion. The lever has a protrusion being disposed above the abutting portion. The abutting portion has a recess at a position thereof corresponding to the predetermined position. When the lever makes a depressing movement from a position other than the predetermined position, the protrusion abuts against the abutting portion. When the lever makes a depressing movement from the predetermined position, the protrusion is received in the recess such that the basal portion presses the vertex of the contact.

    • The invention provides a push-button switch including: a star wheel (15) which is rotated by a constant angular step in one direction by a depression of a push button (4) that automatically returns; an indenter (7) which is pressed against the outer periphery of the star wheel (15) by a spring (8); a contact (9) which is attached so as to corotate with the star wheel (15), and which serves as a movable contact; and terminals (10, 11, 12) with which the contact (9) is contacted in accordance with a rotation angle, and which serve as stationary contacts. A small projection (16) having a rounded tip end is disposed in each of ridge portions (15a) of the star wheel (15). Even when the slope of each ridge portion (15a) does not have a large inclination angle, the star wheel (15) is prevented from being stopped at a position where the ridge portion (15a) is opposed to the indenter (7).
