摘要： A compound machining apparatus according to the present invention comprises an electrode mechanical machining device for machining an electrode material fixedly secured in such a manner that the electrode material is immersed in a machining solution with a cutting tool connected to a spindle into an electrode having a predetermined configuration; parts exchanging device for exchanging, after the formation of the electrode, the cutting tool connected to the spindle for a workpiece to be machined; and workpiece machining device for machining, after the cutting tool has been exchanged for the workpiece, the workpiece with the electrode in the machining solution by electric discharge.

摘要： An improved electric discharge machine with a numerical control unit includes an electrode configuration sensor in a machining vessel for detecting the configuration of a machining electrode before an electric discharge machining operation is conducted. According to one aspect of the invention, the electric discharge machining operation is performed while electrical discharge machining conditions are being automatically selected so as to permit the most suitable machining conditions for the electric discharge machining operation to be carried out with respect to the electrode whose configuration has been detected. According to another aspect of the invention, troublesome operations for setting the electrical conditions corresponding to the electrical discharge machining operation are eliminated.

摘要： An electrode for use in an electric spark machine has recording means integral therewith which stores an electrode information unique to the electrode. The electric spark machine reads the electrode information when the electrode is mounted thereon and stores it in a memory. The electric spark machine operates according to a machining program contained in the electrode information read from the memory while correcting misalignment of the electrode according to misalignment information contained in the electrode information.
